The California poppy or Eschscholzia californica



Happy colored flowers, yellow or orange, and they will
grow on every ground easely. It is very hardy against
against drought and will even germinated in sandy grounds.
The California poppy is originally from the West of the USA
It belongs to the papaver family and
grows on the same places as the poppy.


Flowering



The flowering starts in the spring, in the summer and
even in fall, and stops in october!
The flowerers have bright orange, redish but mostly
yellow flowers. They produce large amounts of
black seeds that easy germinates.

Some cultivars have single or filled flowers
resp. 'compacta delicata' en 'flore pleno'.
The California poppy can be sown from spring
to fall, in every ground. The original
California poppy, the wild form, has striking
colors.
