Fraxinus excelsior
A wellknown large deciduous tree.
The common Ash flowers in spring with ;ight purple flowers.
The seeds
The seeds, called "keys", are made of thin, flattened fibrous tissue
with the shape of a wing. It gives the "keys" the ability to fly
away over long distances during a storm in fall.
The leaves
The leaves are much darker colored at the upperside , the underside
is almost white. the olive tree is a close member of the common Ash,
and has the same leaves. The common Ash looses its leaves in fall,
but the leaves don't change of color during that time.
