Alnus
A common tree that prefers moist grounds. In Europe there
are two kinds of Alder: the Common or Black Alder and the
Green Alder.

Nitrogen and the alder
The aler prefers moist soil , were it lives
together (symbiosis) with bacteria that bind nitrogen
and produces nitrates. Those nitrates are used by
the alder for its own production of proteins.

the common Hazel.
