Leeches in youre waterplants

Sometimes the waterplants in youre pond
contain a large amount of leeches, they
are easely removed by removing the waterplants
out of the water. The leeches leave the
waterplants almost directly.

    Leeches can suddenly appear in youre aquarium or pond after collecting
    live food for youre fishes or introducing new fish or waterplants.
    The best thing to do is to remove it, and put them in a jar.
    Most of them are good-looking worms! There bodies are covered
    with rings some of them in beautiful colors.
    In a pond, leeches can be found on places were there a lot of waterplants
    and the bottom is swallow.

    Fish leech


    Piscicola or fish leech is by far the most abundant leech .
    It attaches itself to the skin, and gills.
    Small red injection points can been seen on the skin of the fish caused
    by the bite of he leech.
    If want to remove the piscicola you have to put the fish
    in light brakkish water.

    Horse leech



    Haemopis sanguisuga or hors leech feeds mostly on snails
    and worms (so not on horses).
    This leech swims gracefully through the water.
    They are not thread for fishes.


    Duck leech



    The duck leech is found near the surface and feeds on snails
    But it also waits for ducks and attaches itself to the nostrils,
    of water fowl. They are sometimes cause the death of chicks.
