The sea medick grows near the shore on sandy grounds as a groundcover. It uses the bacterium Sinorhizobium meliloti for nitrogen fixation, to provide for nitrogen in these poor envirronment. Medigo marina is covered in dense silver hairs, that protects against sand and evaporation loss.
