diaptomus

A very elegant tiny watercritter, the diaptomus gracilis
can be found in a pond or lake. They seem to fly through the
water. Together with Daphnia en Cyclops these are the
main portion of the foodchain in the freshwater community.
During wintertime Daphnia has almost disappeared and Cyclops
en Diaptomus dominates.
Diaptomus is the look-a-like of cyclops maar is just
more beautiful: is seems to fly through the water.
