An annual herb that grows on chalcky and sandy
poor grounds. Kidneyvetch is slowly expanding into the
world: It started in South-Europe, and was found in
germany during the Middle Ages and can now be found
in the Northern parts of the world.

The flowering of the kidneyvetch


The flowring period is at the end of the spring.
the color of the flowers vary : mostly yellow but red
and orange are not uncommon.


Kidney Vetch


Kidneyvetch is the food of the small blue (Cupido minimus)
and Mazarine blue, that feeds on all the Trifolium members.












    The Kidneyvetch or Anthyllis vuleraria, seen here growing
    right up, but can also crawl between grasses.




    The flower of the Kidneyvetch is visited by a soldier
