The house mouse is a rodent that lives were people live: they have there live adapted to that of humans. They have long hairless tails and weight 25 grams. House mice have a very distinct smell, a have a nocturnal live. Housemice do a lot of damage to people, the house mouse is the most common of home-invading mice.

The house mouse (Mus musculus) is considered one of the most troublesome and economically important pests in the United States. House mice live and thrive under a variety of conditions in and around homes and farms. House mice consume food meant for humans or pets. They contaminate food-preparation surfaces with their feces, which can contain the bacterium that causes food poisoning (salmonellosis). Their constant gnawing causes damage to structures and property.

Each male mates with multiple females. Males sing when they smell females who are ready to mate, this singing attract females.
Male mice, when they encounter female mice or smell theire pheromones, emit ultrasonic vocalizations with frequencies ranging over 30–110 kHz.
Males fight with other males, often until one is dead.
Pregnancy lasts for 3 weeks and 5 to 6 young are born per litter, with 7 litters a year.

The most effective way to control a house mice population in your home is prevention.1 Sanitation: remove food and carbage:
The biggest food sources are pet food, bird seed, or grass seed stored in the barn or garage. Stored food must always kept in airtight containers.
2 Cleanup: don't give youre house mouse an easy shelter, clean up youre garage, barn, ceiling.
3 close down all entrances, cracks and gaps used for youre electricity and drainage pipes. close down youre gaage at night.
4 Is there still house mouse activity? place mouse traps or use mouse baits (be carefull for childern, dog and cat)

A woodmouse or fieldmouse is a much easier prey.
