| hi, i was thinking about what could happen in the Premier if you fit two situations
Arsenal wins EL and arrives 6th + Chelsea wins FA CUP and arrives 5th
assuming that today's ranking is definitive: 1) Man City 2) Man Utd 3) Liverpool 4) Tottenham 5) Chelsea 6) Arsenal 7) Burnley ... ...
we will have 5 teams in CL-GS?? city + utd + livpool + spurs + arsenal
and 2 in EL?? chelsea (group stage) + burnley (it would go to Q2?? I'm insecure)
Or the Burnley would take the place that belongs to the FA CUP winner and could go to EL-GS?? it would be the same case with Premier 16/17 maybe ... so Burnley in Q2 |

| 1) yes 5 teams in CL group stage.
2) burnley will start in q2. the "promotion" of arsenal has nothing to do with burnley. whoever finishes 7th will go in q2 independently from arsenal fate. |

| instead if for example (table equal to that of today); - Arsenal wins EL - Southampton wins FA CUP
then we would have 5 teams in CL and 2 in EL ,,,, correct ??
CL-GS => city+utd+liverpool+tottenham+arsenal EL-GS => chelsea+southampton
and in Q2-EL no English then? in Q2 there should be a CW team of round Q1?

| We CAN Still have the following (Unlikely)
1 Man City 2 Man Utd 3 Tottenham 4 Chelsea 5 Liverpool 6 Arsenal 7 Burnley
Both English sides win the CL and EL
Chelsea who make all that effort to get 4th will be in the EL !!
Only 5 sides allowed in CL |

Edited by: Judio1999 at: 26-04-2018, 17:46 | Answering the Earlier question re only 2 teams in EL
It happened last season
Man U won the EL
Only Arsenal went into EL Groups this season
Everton had to qualify |

| We could have this rare scenario in which all English teams qualify for group stages. If Arsenal win the Europa League and finish 7th, looking at a slightly adjusted table:
1. Manchester City (CL) 2. Manchester United (CL) 3. Liverpool (CL) 4. Tottenham (CL) 5. Chelsea (EL) 6. Burnley (EL) 7. Arsenal (Wins EL) (CL)
Not good at all |
