Another EL Title Holders Question

If Man U win EL and come 5th in Premier League then they will get into CL Group Stages(assuming its a Real v Juve Final in CL)

But where do the remaining 2 English clubs end up in the EL ??

The 3 EL places normally are 2 in GS and 1 in QR 3

Just in the round they qualify for in the English league or Cup. Whether Manchester United win the EL or not does not matter for the other English clubs.

Above scenario will make 1 empty place in EL-GS. My question is who will replace MU in EL-GS? Will it be the Czech Cup winner? And will the Polish Cup winner be moved into EL-Q3?

That is correct. And the Scottish and Azerbaijan Cup winners will then enter at EL-Q2.

Hi,

I was wondering what happens if ajax finish 2nd in the dutch league and also win the europa league.

They would get an automatic group phase place for champions league, then who will replace them in the "league" route for the champions league qualifiers?

There will be 14 teams instead of 15 on Q3-Q4.

Thanks.

@gil

Ajax will not be replaced, but 3rd of country 6 (France) will get a bye to CL-Q4.
This leaves only 4 matches in CL-Q3. To fill the gap in EL-Q4 (because 1 less loser will enter there from CL-Q3) the Cup winners of 13 (Czech Rep.), 18 (Poland), 25 (Scotland) and 26 (Azerbaijan) will enter 1 round later.

Similar will be done if Manchester United wins the EL and ends 4th in the League. 3rd of country 6 (France) and 2nd of country 7 (Russia) will both get a bye to CL-Q4.

Can anyone tell me why the Netherlands loses their 3rd round qualifying CL spot if ajax wins the EL? Last year Sevilla won the EL but Spain didn't lose their 4th round CL qualifying spot (Villareal)so they had 5 teams in the CL. Bit unfair isn't it? So if ajax wins the EL the Netherlands should have 3 CL spots. 2 GS (Feyenoord as champion and Ajax as EL winners) and 1 3rd round qualifying spot (PSV).

Last year Spain "lost" a Europa League Q3 spot because of Sevilla. These rules are used for many years now, so nothing exceptional.

That is because Sevilla wasn't qualified for CL last year in their league, but for EL. Spain did lose that EL-spot and still had 7 teams in Europe (5 CL + 2 EL).
Same will happen this season if Manchester United wins the EL.

So it is totally fair. The EL-winner just gets as bonus a spot in CL (Q4 or GS), and no need to give other teams from their country a bonus also which they didn't deserve in their own league.

So IF Ajax wins the EL, PSV (as ranked 3rd in Holland) will move to the CL 3rd round qualifying instead of their EL 3rd round qualifying spot?

If the Ajax wins EL and Juventus wins CL and comes third in Serie A what would be the scenario for the CL-Q4?

Juventus to CL-GS and Ajax takes the CL-Q4 spot of Juventus.

Many of these scenarios can be found here

something I don't understand: If ManU wins the EL, they would go directly within the CL-GS (as mentioned above), but if Ajax wins the EL, they would go only in NCQ4 (with N3 France)?
I don't understand this difference...
For me, whatever winner of the EL should arrive in NCQ4 (with N3 France if it is Ajax, and one less romanian club if it is ManU), shouldn't it?

@bert.kassies

Ok Ajax replaces Juventus in CL-Q4 but they are already qualified at CL-Q3 so who replaces Ajax in the CL-Q3?

You understood wrong. The winner of the EL (no matter if it will be Ajax or Manchester United) will start in CL-GS when the winner of the CL has qualified for CL-GS in their own league (Real Madrid has already done that, Juventus needs to stay in top 2). If the winner of the CL has not qualified for CL-GS in their league (Juventus drops to 3rd place), then the winner of EL will qualify for CL-Q4.

No replacement. Nice (3rd in France) will get a bye since an odd numer of teams are left in CL-Q3, and so 1 less match will be played in CL-Q3 resulting in an open spot in EL-Q4 since 1 less loser of CL-Q3 will drop down to EL-Q4. That open spot will be filled by moving CW's from earlier EL-Q rounds.

If ManU wins the EL they will start in CL-GS , Liverpool have to play the Q4 of Non-Champions no matter who will win the El is that right?

That is correct.

After Juventus qualifying for CL-GS today, it is certain the EL-winner will qualify for CL-GS

For just 2 clubs the round they enter depends on the winner of the EL:
-Nice (Fra): CL-Q3 if Manchester United wins the EL, CL-Q4 if Ajax wins the EL
-Zlin (Cze): EL-Q4 if Ajax wins the EL, EL-GS if Manchester United wins the EL
