| Hi, everybody! This is a great forum where I have found many interesting information and I also think this is the best palce to ask a question concerning distribution of places in the next season's Europa League.
Let's suppose the Spanish League Top 5 looks this way at the end of the season: 1. Barcelona 2. Real Madrid 3. Atletico 4. Valencia 5. Sevilla and Sevilla wins the Europa League.
Barca, Real and Atletico go into the Champions League 2015/16 group stage (regardless of if any of them wins this years' edition). Valencia goes into the Champions League play-off round. Sevilla goes into the Champions League group stage as the Europa League title holder. By the way, I think this is the best possible scenario for Spain. But that's not my question.
Here's where I have doubts. In the situation described above, will Spain has 2 or 3 places in the Europa League 2015/2016? Can any expert explain this for me? |

| Oops! I've found an answer to my question in some other topic: "If the UEFA Europa League titleholder qualifies for the UEFA Europa League through one of its domestic competitions, the number of places to which its association is entitled in the UEFA Europa League is decreased by one." Spain will NOT get an extra place.
So, I think this topic should be deleted |

| You are absolutely correct. The extra place is only given if EL or CL winner didn't qualify for any of euro cups. |

| It is a possible scenario Real Madrid and Sevilla to both defend their trophy.
I am wondering what if Real was 3rd in table close to Valencia with one point different and last matchday was Sevilla-Real. What Sevilla had to do? |

Edited by: Forza-AZ at: 12-05-2015, 23:05 | I think you mean that it would be good for Sevilla to let Real Madrid stay 3rd, since then they would be qualified for CL-GS, and so Sevilla as EL-winner would also qualify for CL-GS. While if Real Madrid would still end up 4th, Sevilla would only get a CL-Q4 spot as EL-winner.
Well, then Sevilla would benefit of losing their match against Real Madrid. |

| But if Real would be number 4 in Spain AND Real would win CL... ... then I guess the Non-Champions League spot is not used (as Real is placed as title holder. |

| Hi! What's the deal with Sevilla getting 4th place AND winning UEL this season? They'll get their GS spot, not their Playoff round spot, right? |

| if Seville win the EL and finish 4th of the Liga, they will get the GS spot left vaccant in UCL as EL title holder. Then Spain will get 4 teams in CL GS and 3 teams in EL.
If Seville win EL and finish 5th, they will go as well to GS. But Spain will get 4 teams in CL GS, 1 team in Q4 CL and 2 teams in EL. |
