So since teams had to play a round between the (1st) group stage and the quarterfinals it never happened before that all group winners qualified for the quarterfinals. |

| In 2005/06, 7 Group Winners were qualifed. I remember because Benfica it was the only runner-up qualified for QF.
What was the minimum number of group winners qualified for QF since 99? |

| That would be 2007/08 with only 3 group winners advanced to QF.
Only Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea advanced.
Milan, Sevilla, Porto, Real Madrid and Inter failed against Arsenal, Fenerbahçe, Schalke, Roma and Liverpool respectively. |
