England and Germany are quite near in the ranking to each other, so the battle for the 2nd place may get interesting this year.

Both started the season with 12 bonus points = 1,714 coefficient points.

Points and coefficients last week:

England: 1 point - 0,142
Germany: 0,5 points - 0,071

Will be interesting, especially the direct confrontations.

But in the qualifiers, this isn't possible yet, because Schalke/Arsenal and Swansea/Wigan/Stuttgart/Frankfurt are all seeded throughout any Q-round.

Both nations have two new-bees, so it will be a good comparance how they manage to get through the season.

Hmmm..... I think you mentioned this because, Wigan got relegated, while Tottenham were in a chase for a CL spot until nearly the end, correct?

I think this is a bit,... well strange. However, Wigan did actually win something, so that should merit something.

There'll be 4 direct English-German duells in the GS of the CL. England has right now the advantage of having all 7 teams in the GS whereas the Germany already lost Stuttgart. England has the better teams in the El whereas German teams should overall better on the same level as their English counterparts in the CL.

Bayern is better than every English team.
Dortmund ought to be as good as United and Chelsea.
Bayer and Schalke are weaker than United and Chelsea, but are comparable to Arsenal.

ManU Chelsea and City should advance. Arsenal will struggle, especially if they don't sign anyone.

Bayern should advance.
Dortmund are favourites to top their group but there won't be any easy games. Hopefully they will convert their chances better than two years ago.
Bayer will battle with Sociedad, but they are in good shape right now, so they could make it.
Schalke has a weaker group on paper, but they are in a dreadful form. Then again they tend to make their best games when they are overall weak so who knows. KPBoateng might help them, they have a genuily talented team and if their manager Keller figures it out, they should also advance.
