The UEFA Champions League play-off draw consists of ten clubs in each of the champions and league routes. In the champions route the seeded teams will be from the five third qualifying round ties with the highest-ranked sides, regardless of who went on to win

Seeding will just be the same as for any other round. |

| It must be a copy/paste error at uefa.com from text used in an article about Q3. The results of the matches in Q3 are known before the draw so it would be rediculous not to use that info. |

| This is written in the CL-regulations:
9.01 The UEFA administration seeds clubs for the qualifying phase, the play-offs and the group stage in the UEFA Champions League, in accordance with the club coefficient rankings established at the beginning of the season and with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee. If, for any unforeseen reason, any of the participants in such rounds are not known at the time of the draw, the coefficient of the club with the higher coefficient of the two clubs involved in an undecided tie will be used for the purposes of the draw.
So no question about seeding in the CL-play-off round. The clubs with the highest coefficient will be seeded as always.
It happens more often that articles on uefa.com are completely wrong regarding seeding issues. Apparently they have people there that write these articles that have no clue how seeding works. |
