| Hello there, you can google translate this http://fotbal.idnes.cz/jablonec-a-liberec-budou-hosti-fotbalove-pohary-ve-stejn y-den-pt1-/fot_pohary.aspx?c=A130727_095450_fot_pohary_rou but for those who dont want : distance between Liberec and Jablonec is 10km and they must play on same day 1st august 1st leg at home, Liberec game start at 18:00 and Jablonec 20:15, it is such curiosity because in czech league they never play on same round both at home but on UEFA competotions they can ?? i bet if it was scheluded to play 2nd leg at home they 100% change it, but as you can read from article representative from Jablonec warned many times UEFA that this can happens but no reaction ... |

Edited by: Forza-AZ at: 27-07-2013, 11:59 | There is no strict 50 km rule!!
This is in the EL-regulations:
If more than one club from the same city, or within a radius of 50 km (31 miles) of each other, are taking part in any of the UEFA club competitions and/or play in the same stadium, and if the association and the clubs concerned explicitly declare when entering the clubs that their matches cannot be played on the same day, priority is given to UEFA Champions League matches and UEFA Europa League matches are reversed in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee.
So apparently the Czech national association didn't declare Jablonec and Slovan Liberec can't play at home on the same day at the time they entered the clubs for EL.
And even if the clubs are very close together (I know because I went to Jablonec-AZ 2 years ago and stayed in Liberec), I don't see a problem staging these 2 matches at the same time.
And why do you think UEFA would have reversed 1 game when both had to play the 2nd leg at home? What would be the difference with the current situation? |

| Forza-AZ I dont know what did or didnt czech football association, but you should agree that 10 km is like 1 city and they never let play teams from 1 city in same day if they dont want reverse they put 1 match to Tuesday, some fans wanted visit both matches and there is only natural reagional rivality, derbies Liberec - Jablonec have tradition only 20 years while Sparta - Slavia more than 100 years,so i dont think hostility. |

| As I've said on Forum 2, KR and Breidablik are 6 km apart and these two played their home games in the same night, at the same hour in both QR1 and QR2.
I don't like the fact that UEFA let's the local FA decide if it's OK for some games to be play in close proximity and for others it isn't. The rules should be the same for all, since it's ONE competition. You don't have such specific rules in domestic leagues. What applies for one team, applies for all. So, you either reverse all ties with such problem, or none. |

| I think it is fair that clubs, assosciations and media get to decide on this, as 50 km is not just 50 km and not all Uefa regulated matches are similar. I guess the czechs feel they can handle it, and as such it is more fair to keep things as the drawsmade them. |
