Edited by: lukasbielsko at: 15-05-2013, 20:41 | 15 May was a crazy day for all the fans of Polish Ekstraklasa – the day of decision about licences for a next season. As expected, the team with such an terrible owner who really destroy it – Polonia Warsaw – were not given a licence, therefore the 15th team of 2012–13 Ekstraklasa will be spared form relegation.
But this is not the important today's news from Poland to European Football. At the same time there has been decided about giving a permission to play in 2013–14 European competitions. In fact, there are 10 (!) teams who have been admitted to gain it. Among them there are losing finalist of Polish Cup – Sląsk Wrocław, and the further teams from league table: GKS Bełchatów, Górnik Zabrze, Jagiellonia Białystok, Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, Pogoń Szczecin, Polonia Warsaw, Ruch Chorzów, Widzew Łódz and Wisła Kraków (however, Górnik Zabrze is expected to choose another stadium and they will gain the UEFA licence). That means the only teams with a chance to win a spot in UEFA Europa League are Piast Gliwice, Zagłębie Lubin, Lechia Gdańsk and Korona Kielce.
I encourage to look at an article on 2012–13 topic on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_Ekstraklasa#League_table
Any possible appeals will be considered to 28 May. Such a craziness... |

| Yeah, that's a strange table, isn't it.
Check out the English Premier League as well if you want. I was wondering how they'd solve the problem of Wigan needing two colours. They solved it by giving Wigan a double line, and being all red, but splitting the side into both, with two lines, one for relegation and one for qualification to the ELGS. |

| The same thing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the first instance Commission for licensing only five clubs got the license for European competition and those are eljezničar (champions), Sarajevo (second placed team), iroki Brijeg (cup winner), Zrinjski (8th) and Vele (11th). Olimpic (3rd), Borac (4th) and Čelik (5th) who are fighting for the third place and the last European spot didn't got their license for European competitions at the first instance commission. All clubs have the right to appeal to the Appeals Committee which will gather sometimes soon and we will know the final results for the licenses.
Regarding the licenses to compete in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina only 8 out of 16 clubs from this season got the license + none from the lower leagues until now. The clubs who got the license are the one who got the European licence + Travnik (14th), GOK (15th) and the long-relegated Gradina (16th). They also have the right to appeal to the Appeals Committee so we still need to wait for the official results. |

| There isn't any craziness of Ekstraklasa. More than 10 of 16 clubs of polish league haven't paid players even their January solaries. Situation is very grim for indebted polish clubs.
I'm curious how look like situation of clubs in other european countries. |

| Slask Wroclaw and Gornik Zabrze have been given a licence on appeal today and Polonia Warsaw haven't been given it, so the only teams involved in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League are Piast Gliwice and Gornik Zabrze. Certainly, Slask have qualified to UEFA Europa League. |

| Slask Wroclaw, Wisla Krakow and Gornik Zabrze finally received a license for European Cups in next season.
Polonia Warszawa (currently 5th) will be relegated due to financial problems, so 4th Piast Gliwice is almost sure to play in Europa League. |
