What if Malaga wins Champions League? I understand they are already banned for next year...

@mjohnson1989:

I addressed that on another thread (other forum)--I think the UEFA is trying to wait as long as possible to address questions such as Málaga's appeal of their suspension--hoping that the problem will just go away--in the case you ask about, by being eliminated from this year's CL (much as it'd be neat to see them get to and win the Final, I don't think there's much chance) and by bombing out of European places in the league. We may get some clue about March 31st, the day by which they have to satisfy the UEFA that their finances are above-board in order to avoid a second suspension. Michael S. Collins says UEFA has never waffled from a suspension like the one they announced for Málaga . . . I must say, it feels too much as though it's the players who are being punished, although I'm not quite sure what other (legal) punishment UEFA can use to threaten recalcitrant purse-string holders. I suppose they could tell Málaga to sack the sheikh or else, but that doesn't sound as though it's something they would want to get into . . .

@ Johnzon: Malaga wouldn't be the first, it happened to Olympique Marseille too. They were European Champions in 1993, but they were banned for the 1993/94 season.
