4 one off quarter final matches. 4 English teams. All of them playing at home. Think it can happen? All 4 of them won away in the last 16. |

Edited by: Lorric at: 21-03-2013, 18:24 | It's not happening.
Chelsea defeated Juventus and Aston Villa defeated Olympiakos, but Sporting, the destroyers of English teams it seems, defeated Tottenham. They seem to like beating English teams, so should be pleased with the presence of so many of them. Arsenal are still to play CSKA Moscow.
EDIT:
It seems the senior version of Sporting CP's all time record vs English clubs is even, W9, D5, L9.
But the last 7 times they've faced an English team in a 2 leg tie, they've won! They've won 8/10 KO matches with English teams:

On that evidence, I'm glad they're out of the running to qualify for Europe next year. Bogey team! |

| Aston Villa won the competition!
...and are pretty likely to get relegated from the Premier League. |

| Good to see some success for English clubs in a European competition this season, especially a team that was unexpected |
