Here's a conundrum for you. This is the table in Cyprus:
1st Omonia - 56pts 2nd APOEL - 55pts 3rd AEL Limassol - 54pts (game in hand) 4th Anorthosis - 51pts
This is APOEL's next fixture before the Madrid match:
APOEL vs Omonia
Where do you direct your attention? The safe bet is to go for the title. The risky bet is to go for the probably once in a lifetime opportunity. Which do you choose?
What's more, that's the last game of the regular season. After that, those four go into a playoff group and play each other home and away. I believe they keep the same points. APOEL will have crucial fixtures from now on domestically. What do you prioritise? Prioritising Real Madrid will likely be as good as throwing the league title away this season... |
