| I don't think there will be a real battle this year. Germany got too few points last year and this year Mainz is already out and I think Hannover will soon follow. So my guess is, that Spain will increase its coefficient lead this year. |

| BAttle only possible, if there is a worst case scenarion after Play-Offs for Spain, that means Sevilla and Bilbao will go out, Villareal misses CL (ok, that's maybe THAT important) and Bayern, Schalke & Hannover go through.
Then, it might get interesting, but also in his case, Spain still has their Giants Real and Barca...pretty bad Chances for 2nd place for Germany/us .
We will have to take care not to loose 3rd Place in the next 3-4 Years, thats much more important for us :-) |

| İ said this battle be very interesting. And know Hannover win Sevilla. one teams lose for Spain. And Germany point diveded 6, but Spain point diveded 7, Let's see what happed for 6 match GS all teams. I think Bayern Munich win Villareal two match. I hope it. |

| well, it doesn't matter in the end. It's all about collecting as many points as possible for both of them. Of course there is a chance Germany might overtake Spain, but this scenario is very improbable. Well, Villarreal might drop out as 4th of CL Group A and there might be a chance Leverkusen sends out Valencia. Nevertheless, as long as Barca and Real keep spamming points like crazy it won't help ^^ |

| When higher coefficient team win at home and draw away, Spain will get 17.500 this year and end up on 80.829. Germany will collect 12.417 and end up on 72.353.
Leverkusen, Dortmund and Hannover have low coefficient, but yesterday already showed that coefficient is not decisive ! |

Edited by: Malko at: 27-08-2011, 12:37 | maybe when one day, Spain cannot anymore have the best players of the world in its teams.....another country can hope to take the second place. actually Ribery and Robben are not enough even to dream about it...... Not one win of an European Cup in the last decade would'nt be compatible with a second place, it's rather with a 3rd..........
Ricardo, coefficient is not decisive...and if you see the groups which came out in CL and EL, we really should stop all that crap of seeding. there are monster-groups, and ridiculous groups ! It cannot be worse without any seeding.....so STOP seeding, UEFA ! |

| ZundHor, well this seeding-nonsense is my opinion, most of you have a different one. I respect this other opinion, so please, accept mine.....
Concerning spot 2, there is no battle, and there won't be any battle so far as long as barcelona and real can have all the players in world they want to have |

| this year, Spain has already nearly half a point more than Germany. Seeing the Country tankings 2012,13,14 1nd 15,....actually, in the last one, Germany has dropped again to Number 4, but i know.....we must see what Portugal will do. Beginning today with Benfica..... |

| I can see no battle. England ist first spain second, and germany third. and that will remain so for the next few years.
maybe france will battle italy for 4th place. |

Edited by: Lorric at: 14-09-2011, 16:42 | I could see Germany passing Spain sometime. with the decline of teams not named Barcelona or Real Madrid are facing compared to the continuing rise of the Bundesliga. England is primed to absolutely dominate this season's table and take a wide lead in first as the only country with all teams winning all qualifiers, plus a hefty haul of points from the qualifiers with Fulham starting out in Q1. |

Edited by: Malko at: 14-09-2011, 18:21 | Lorric, i see no "continuing rise" of the Bundesliga, and i really think the Top is passed. See Leverkusen which has no chance at all vs Chelsea, Dortmund getting the draw very lucky vs Arsenal. We will see if Bayern is as strong as tey they selselves they are. beating Freiburg 10-0 means nothing, I think the main field of Bundesliga is getting some weak compared to other top-nations (except Italy maybe), (see the bad results in EL last year)... Bundesliga only has one Top-team, and even not compared to Manchester or Barca.....other countries have 2 or 3.........so, no continuing rise at all.... I think Bundesliga had some good results the last 2-3 years, but in fact is the weakest of the Top5-Nations when you see all 20 (or 18) teams.
Do not forget Portugal......have to keep an eye on them. |

Edited by: Lorric at: 14-09-2011, 18:35 | Shhh, Malko. You're twisting things. I watched both games at the same time, being English. One on TV and one on a stream. Arsenal got dominated, but fought well and held out for a point. Chelsea's match was very competitive. I could see them drawing or even being beaten in Germany. It could have easily gone another way in the first match, but it was Chelsea who scored, and it was a class goal, and then they got them on a break at the end for a second.
Anyway, it's not about matches against Premier League teams, especially in the Champions League. It's about matches against everyone else. |

| Lorric, Arsenal is actually NOT in top-form, you know it.....Well, i hope Marseille qill qualify, arsenal or Dortmund, we'll see....
Amnd jhust...matches about anything else.....so, we will see. I do not think that the german teams will go far in CL this year (maybe even not Bayern who has a very difficult group and is not sure to be among the 2 teams going to KO-stage), and in EL....as i told you, Hannover or Schalke are not equal to the French (Paris and R ennes),Spanish or English teams in EL this year |

Edited by: flob at: 14-09-2011, 23:01 | Again, no battle here in my opinion.
Germany won't make much points this year, I think. 'Normal' points for a top 3 country in the new system is about 15.000 points, Germany probably with one team out already and difficult CL groups won't make more than 11.000-13.000.
Portugal is no danger for me, they won't repeat their "exceptional season" over 5 years, especially when they have to start with 6 teams.
I'd be just happy if Germany stays before Italy in the season ranking, stabilizing the 3rd place in the 5-year-ranking, I don't expect more.

"I do not think that the german teams will go far in CL this year (maybe even not Bayern who has a very difficult group and is not sure to be among the 2 teams going to KO-stage"
Bayern completely dominated Villarreal in an away game. That is at least a good start!
I know you like to see Germany on place 6 below Italy, France and Portugal, but that is really wishful thinking from you and has no basis in reality. |
