| I can't recall what happens to define the order of clubs on equal coefficient, when this is based on default country values and therefore equal for each year. For the coming EL both Birmingham City and Stoke City have the basic England coeficient since neither has been involved for many years. Birmingham won the League Cup, but moved up from the lowest EL spot as Stoke qualified by losing the FA Cup Final to a CL qualified team. Does this place them below Birmingham, or does their higher league position come into play? Or would this only happen if they had finished 6th in the league, in which case they would be above Birmingham in EL spots? I suspect the latter but would like to know for sure. |

| The qualifying spot determines the ranking when both teams are equal on all last 5 years coefficient I believe. So first the CL-qualifiers and then the EL-qualifiers in the order given in the access list.
So in this case first Birmingham (as EL 2) and then Stoke (as EL 3). |

06/07 07/08 08/09 09/10 10/11 total Makedonija Skopje 0.2332 0.3332 0.1000 1.1000 0.2750 2.041 FBK Kaunas 0.3666 0.3000 0.5000 0.7500 0.1250 2.041 Here Makedionia have a coef of 0.2750 for last season while coef for Kaunas is 0.1250 , so Makediona is ranking first. |
