Date: 26-04-2011, 16:11 | If Schalke win the CL, they will play in the CL group stage next season as title holders. There is no change for the other German clubs. If Schalke win the German Cup there will be 4 German teams in CL and 2 in EL (losing Cup finalist will not qualify instead of Schalke). If Schalke loses the German Cup final there will be 4 German teams in CL and 3 in EL. |

In this case, the combined number of places to which the titleholder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League does not change. If Manchester United win the CL (same is the case for Barcelona and Real Madrid), then the TH spot isn't used and the champion of country 13 (Switzerland) will start in the group stage, the champion of country 16 (Scotland) will start in Q3, and the champions of countries 48 and 49 (Faroer and Northern Ireland) will start in Q2 |
