| considering that the two finalists will not reach European spot by their league, the final between Fulham and Atletico Madrid will be important also for another factor: either Spain or England will play with an extra team next season, affecting considerably their coefficient... |

| If Atlético Madrid beat Sevilla FC in the cup final and win the Europa League final, or if Atlético Madrid do lose the cup final to a third or fourth-placed Sevilla FC side and win the Europa League final, then Spain will not have a further european entrant. England, however, would have an extra spot with Fulham FC because Fulham can not finish any higher than ninth (and seventh is the last Europa League position in England). |

| And with also England in December high in fair-play competition, England could have 9 teams in Europe (again)! |

| So for Athletico to claim the title holder spot they have to lose the Copa del Rey final and Sevilla fail to qualify for the Champions League, right? |

No. In order for Atletico to gain TH spot they have to win the EL.
In order for Spain to have an extra team in EL should Atletico win the trophy, Atletico must lose the Cup final AND Sevilla to finish below 4th. |

| Hello guys,
I just wanted to ask what happens if the CL title holder:
(a) does not qualify for the CL through its domestic league position, but qualifies for the EL,
or
(b)does not qualify for either the CL or EL through its domestic league/cup position
Would the association of the title holder be allowed to enter an extra team in either the CL or EL? |

| In the case of the CL TH does not get spot for Champions League, they qualify as trophy holders and country gets an extra spot, unless the country has 4 spots since it is the maximum number a country can have in Champions LeAGUE.
However I believe UEFA will change decision in that case and give extra place to that country with 5 teams, since that happened in 2005/06 |

No they wont. The rules changed since 2005-06 because of what happened in that season. Before the rules weren't clear but now they are. |

| AAAH! Always the same questions! Can someone save this message and copy-paste it if there's someone asking it again? 'Cause I won't answer again.
Case One Let's imagine that the CL title holder is the domestic 8th. Here are the cases.# One Two Three Four {=== CL domestic spots 1 -> CL -> CL -> CL -> CL 2 -> EL -> CL -> CL -> CL 3 -> EL -> EL -> CL -> CL 4 -> EL -> EL -> EL -> EL (loses CL) 5 -> EL -> EL -> EL 6 -> EL -> EL 7 -> EL (created) 8 -> CL -> CL -> CL -> CL An additionnal CL spot is allowed except when it would be the 5th : in this case an additionnal EL spot is created. Case Two Let's imagine that the CL title holder missed the CL qualification from one place only (or any other way that sends into EL). Here are the cases.# One Two Three Four {=== CL domestic spots 1 -> CL -> CL -> CL -> CL 2 ->*CL -> CL -> CL -> CL 3 -> EL ->*CL -> CL -> CL 4 -> EL -> EL ->*CL -> EL (loses CL) 5 -> EL -> EL ->*CL 6 -> EL -> EL 7 -> EL The combined number of CL+EL spots does not change. Cases Three and Four Let's imagine that the EL title holder missed the CL qualification. Here are the two cases.Qualified to EL Not qualified to EL either -> directly into Group Stage -> directly into Group Stage
Other teams are not affected in any way. |
