| Since 1995-1996, only three countries entering at least 6 teams ended up at first place, regarding the Country Coefficient : - Spain : 6 times - Italy : 3 times - England : 2 times
Spain got second to Romania (3 teams) in 05-06 and England second to Ukraine (4 teams) last season.
This season, England seems to be the favorite, but Germany or even France can add good results to good results and get the best coefficient (still 100 pts to be shared, including around 85/90 pts for top 5 countries).
Will this happen ? Would it be just an accident or is it meaningful for the next seasons ? |

| Bad news for England and Spain (Chelsea and Sevilla out with no pt). Italy gets big points, but with two teams left and a seven points deficit over Germany, Italy has a very slight chance.
If Liverpool, Atletico, Valencia and Fulham don't qualify, Germany will be by far my favorite for first place.
Overview :
Bordeaux wins (Olympiacos) : Fra 3 Barcelona defeats Stuttgart : Esp 3 - Ger 0
Valencia wins at Werder : Esp 3 - Ger 0 Marseille wins (Benfica) : Fra 3 Fulham - Juventus, tied : Eng 1 - Ita 2 Liverpool defeats Lille and qualifies : Eng 3 - Fra 0 HSV draws (Anderlecht) : Ger 2 Atletico loses (Sporting) : Esp 0 Wolfsburg wins (Rubin) : Ger 3
Eng : + 4 Esp : + 6 Ita : + 2 Ger : + 5 Fra : + 6
Eng : 15.214 (3/7) Esp : 15.500 (2/7) Ita : 14.285 (2/7) Ger : 15.750 (3/6) Fra : 14.666 (3/6)
Even in this case (Liverpool qualifying and Valencia winning at Werder), Germany would be favorite. |
