To get to 41, Ukraine needs 9 pts To get to 42, Russia needs 6 pts, Ukraine 14 pts To get to 43, Russia needs 12 pts, Ukraine 19 pts For next season, five countries will compete for 6th place : Netherlands is 6 pts behind Ukraine, but if Dinamo gets 4th, Netherlands might shorten the gap. |

Date: 09-12-2009, 22:57 | There's only one thing left for this season... Unirea to draw vs. Shakhtar in the EL-32 and qualify further (with two draws, if possible). That would make for a nice symmetry: - Shakhtar eliminated twice by Romanian teams (by FC Timisoara in CL qualifiers, and Unirea in EL) - Both teams that would have eliminated Shakhtar were eliminated by Vfb Stuttgart in CL. Anyway, 6th spot is pretty much adjudicated by now -- congrats, Russia! |

Even if they pass one more round they will be eliminated in the next one.. Zenit - that's a real nightmare at St Petesrsburg with Zenit dominating all the match, should be having done at least 3-0 & losing a stupid goal at 89th min. Also they have just changed the coach, just lost Timoschuk, Pogrebnyak and Danny (heavy injured) with no sub yet acquired by that moment. Next season the eurocampaign should be far better.. but still the Ukrainians have a slight advantage.. |

Rubin eliminated Dynamo. BTW congratulation, very bad draw for both these teams. And CSKA reached knock out stage in CL something that as far as I know Shakhtar didn't achieved yet. Still a great battle awaits us next year between Russia and Ukraine. than Ukraine will start with an advantage unless the 2 Russian teams manage to make up the 1.2 difference. Portugal and Turkey can also join the battle especially Portugal with 3 teams left in competition this season. Holland is to far away at the moment, they would need a very good performance this year. Since Romania was originally part of this thread a few words. We could actually get the 7 th spot not that it matters we are just a victory and a draw away of it. Although Portugal is coming strong from behind. Next year will be battleing with Denmark Scotland, Belgium and Switzerland for the last direct CL spot(12 or 13) or for the last championship with 5 teams in Europe (15). So the 15 place is the one I care the most as I want as many teams as possible each year and I think we are in a good position to secure this place. We belong with these teams in the rankins I think. |
