| mmh not good for France.. PSG will probably find itself in Ligue 2 next season. Many players will leave the club in that case. |

| Wonderful ref for the 2 important games (Psg-Lens and Bordeaux-Nancy) giving 2 non-existant penalties. |

| ZundHor, i do not think PSG will go to Ligue2, but...maybe Lens will. Anyways, if they do, PSG has more possibilities to keep the players than lens. |

| Well, even Juve couldn't hold all their players...
PSG must win against Straßbourg next week, if they doesn't it will be very hard. |

| The game is on wednesday. It will be another great game of Ligue 1. If you have seen yesterday Lens vs PSG, you would never have thought that its the 17th vs the 18th...and that is what i am tryng to say here for months now. but unfortunately, most people here do not have the possibilitiy to watch these games regularly. |

| It seems to me that in Ligue 1 almost anyone can beat anyone else (except Lyon & Metz at opposite extremes most of the time).
I hope PSG go down - just because I dislike all "big name clubs". But I would be surprised if it happens.
First - they probably wont lose next week. Second - even if they do then "big clubs" tend to have this ability to put a run of wins together when it really, really matters - I guess this is why they are "big clubs" & why they generally annoy me so much.
After Nancy away in two weeks (and they are far from invicible) PSG's run in doesn't look exactly daunting.
I suspect (and fear) that the real relegation question will end up being: "Are the likes of Caen & Strasbourg sinking fast enough to save Toulouse & Sochaux from the drop".
Although if you are looking for a "big team" in peril - Monaco's recent form is truly atrocious.
Sorry for going slightly off-topic - some of this is probably more appropriate to Lyonnais' thread on forum 2.
More on topic & another "although I hate to admit it". But because PSG are a "big club" & hence are pretty high up in the French "hierarchy" when it comes to spending power - now they are in Europe their chances of doing pretty well are probably higher than those of the likes of Nice, Le Mans, Lorient & Valenciennes - or even Nancy. All of these teams are far more likely to lose their best players in the summer and/or prove to have limited strength in depth when it comes to competing both domestically & in Europe. |

Edited by: Lyonnais at: 31-03-2008, 09:40 | Good analysis badgerboy. I agree on all your points.
1 - this discussion probably needs to take place in forum 2
2 - PSG are not relegated yet. Last season, they were in a worst situation (19th with 28 points after 30 MDs, vs. 18th with 31 points after 30 MDs this season - not taking account the other games played yesterday) and they won 6 out of their 9 last games to save their place. This said, the wins of Sochaux and Toulouse yesterday won't help them. PSG are now 19th (ith 1 game in hand). They however will have the chance to meet most of their direct competitors for the remaining games (Strasbourg, Toulouse, Sochaux).
3 - PSG is not an ordinary club in France. Although their ranking is not good, they can still attract some players.
4 - Monaco is in a very very bad shape. |
