| Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else.
So we got the new Platini format for CL. When will we QUALIFY for this new format?
(1) 2008-2009: so DURING this season we will qualify for the new format? So then the actual new format will be used from 2009-2010
(2) 2009-2010: Qualifying for the new format starts in 2009-2010. So the new format will start in 2010-2011.

The countrycoefficient '08 (where still (some) changes are being done on will be used for number of qualificationspots in 2009/2010
Domestic summerleagues 2008 and winterleagues 2008/2009 will be used to fill these spots
For teamcoefficient will the teamranking '09 be used (still more than 1 european season to go)
This summer we will have the last intertoto year and after that 1 more european season (2008/2009) according to the old format. |

| So this change means that Netherlands keep its second CL spot.
OLD system: spot 9 = 4 entries in total
NEW system: spot 9 = 6 entries in total
Is this correct? |

| It was not a problem of losing the 2nd (qualification) CL spot, but losing 2 UefaCup spots. That indeed will not happen, despite Holland will end up position 9 this year. |

| indeed. I am immensely surprised this still hasnt been reported in the media, but this year's bad results have no impact on the number of teams qualifying due to the changes. |

They have lots of newsitems (in Dutch) about football and also have the Uefa Coeffcients mentioned (no link to this site) but unfortunately with the current qualification method |

So Sweden's second AND third placed teams of THIS season (already started) will get an UEFA cup berth? I.e., one more than last season (Instead of the former IT berth)? |
