Executor's link has all this information already I think but for me in the UK on "free to air" there is:

17.45 Galatasaray-Leverkusen (DSF). Available on old analogue satellite.

19.00 Brann-Everton (Five). Terrestial TV.

19.30 Bremen-Braga (ZDF). Another analogue channel.

20.00 Rangers-Panathinaikos (BBC1 Scotland). I guess this isn't "free-to-air" though - unless you live in Scotland. With a Sky digital system it's possible to get it (& all the other individual regions) but I'm led to believe (possibly falsely) that you have to be paying some subscription to someone to have this range.

Which leads me to a question - especially to anyone in the UK. Our old analogue satellite - as well as having very few channels left on it - is showing every indication that it is about to go kaput. Does anyone have any experience of any digital satellite system that picks up lots of free-to-air foreign channels in the way the old sky analogue one did?

DSF and ZDF are digital TV Station for sure. ZDF have very fine quality (16:9 and very clear screen). You can also watch ZDF analouge, yes but also digital.

Try the Astra 19,2 east. There are more then 40 free to air digital german TV Channels (also the most famous) and they show very often football (also Euro 2008 on ZDF).

For example:

13. February 6:30 Uhr p.m. CET, (DSF) - Galatasaray Istanbul - Bayer 04 Leverkusen

13. February, 8:30 p.m CET, (ZDF) - Werder Bremen - Sporting Braga

14. February, 6:50 p.m. CET, (Pro7) FC Aberdeen - Bayern München

14. February, 8:15 p.m. CET, (DSF) - FC Zürich - Hamburger SV

14. Februar, 9:45 p.m. CET, (DSF) - Benfica Lissabon - 1.FC Nürnberg

badgerboy: On digital satellite, all BBC and ITV channels are free to air throughout the UK. In fact, they can also be picked up in other parts of Europe (Benelux, France, western Germany).

I don't receive them myself (since I'm hooked up to cable) but quite a few enthusiasts in Germany point their dishes to Astra 28.2 East.

If you want to watch as many foreign football channels as possible, any digital FTA system for Astra 19.2E will do. All the German channels are there, plus Direct 8 from France and some others.
