| I am new on forum, but in forum history I didn' find any discuccion about Inter Cities fairs cup?
Was that cup has been organized by Uefa, or any other organization?
For case that cup was not organized by uefa, why everybody (specialy on that forum) count numbers and coeficients from that cup in all time statictic?
I have some other questions...
Since when draw for eurocups was made according uefa coeficients?
Did Uefa calculated points and coeficients from Intercity fairs cup in draw during that years (1960-1971)?
Was it any condition for clubs to participate Inter City fairs cup? |

The Inter-Citys Fairs cup was not organized by the UEFA, but by the big trade fairs, it was more or less a friendy tournament, especially in the beginning. As it grew more important, the UEFA took over and re-christened it UEFA Cup, but coeficiants weren't introduced until a couple of years later. |

| I think you'll find those pages are just Bert (site owner) calculating historic coefficients "for fun".
He'll answer better when he pops in to the forum though. |

| @Kira, badgerboy and Cirdan are right. The country rankings are published by UEFA since 1979. Before 1990 these rankings were only used to determine the number of berths in the UEFA Cup. In the first years of the UEFA Cup, and before 1971 in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, teams were invited to participate.
The database on this website contains the calculated country rankings for all previous years. Just for fun, because they were never published or used before 1979. |
