Where dreams are born

Taken from a John Williams Song from the movie "AI", or I could call this topic "What an euphoric Romanian would say if he was Portuguese".

Funny Stuff. Pick up your team and design the dream Scenario that It is STILL possible with the teams in question. Just for the sake of it!

Mine would be something like this:

Benfica win Copenhagen and Manchester
Manchester loses Celtic
Celtic loses Copenhagen

1 Benfica 10
2 Celtic 9
3 Manchester 9

Sporting win Inter and Spartak
Bayern loses Inter and Spartak
Inter loses Spartak

1 Sporting 11
2 Bayern 10
3 Spartak 8

Porto wins CSKA and Arsenal
Hamburg wins CSKA (This is important for UC)

1 Porto 13
2 Arsenal 10
3 CSKA 8

All three meet irrelevant opponents till semi finals. In semi final
Porto meets Chelsea and wins.
Other semi final is between Sporting-Benfica a local derbie, with no winner announced.

Porto wins champions league :D

UC:

Braga beats GRasshoppers and qualifies.
In the road to final Braga meets the survival Romanian team, plus Steaua dropped from CL and eliminates them both (I luv direct confrontation).
In the final Braga takes revenge from Sporting 2 years ago and Beats CSKA (Who dropped out from CL) in Russia!!

With this magnificent results, Portugal ends up 5th in Rankings.

This are my dreams all still available until Tuesday! :D
Yours?...

I am worry about Aliceag. I'm afraid he's doing something illegal in his country, or medication doesn't works anymore.
If you bet 1 single euro on all this, you must get something about 10 billions.

My dream would be Steaua playing the semi-finals against Newcastle and scoring the winnig goal in the 92 min. Then winning the final of the UC.

Hey, Alice--
I like it a lot. The stuff dreams are made of . . . If I can't get my dreams to come true, I hope yours do. Mine sound like this: Barsa beats Levski and Werder B., while Chelsea loses to the same two teams; Real beats Lyon (I know I'm dreaming here) and Dinamo K., while Lyon also drops a point to Steaua, and Valencia gets by Olympiakos and Roma. Barsa beats Bayern, Real over PSV, and Valencia beats Lille; Barsa beats Oporto, Real beats Benfica, and Valencia beats Chelsea; Valencia over Liverpool, and Real beats Barsa, and now we replay the final of 2000; Real is my team, but I just can't root against Valencia. May the better one win!
The UEFA Cup sees Celta and Sevilla getting to the final, with Sevilla repeating as winners. Celta comes up with road wins against Newcastle and Palermo in the group phase; along the way Sevilla beats Tottenham and the Rangers, while Celta beats Lens and Auxerre.
Hey, everybody, these are just dreams, so I promise not to bet even one Euro on the outcome!

In my dream UEFA hires THIS FORUM as consultants for matters of co-efficients, formats etc.

We are allowed to continue to use out current usernames. Bert is chairman (of course, his real name is known). badgerboy is press officer and becomes famous.....for the length of his press releases (he is paid per word.)

A special sub-committee for innovative format changes is chaired by.....iwan.

ignjat63 and STK/retroactive are given a year (and a massive fee) to write a report entitled 'Bringing the romance back to the European cups.'

The forum 2 prediction game is combined with the Euromillions lottery.

panda,

you guessed it. My dream would really be to bring back some of that old-feeling to these "money rules everything" days.

@modano

I have to dream even more harder to see RSC Anderlecht winning their next european matches,.......

but we'll try (isn't a nightmare not a dream?)

Don't worry Yveske.

If something goes wrong, we will keep our coefficient high

Are you casting aspirations on the length of my posts?

As it is I'm nearly broke. I'm still waiting for my cheque for winning week 1 of the prediction game. If only I could get this AND get Bert to follow your suggestion & pay me per word for my posts - backdated to when I joined the forum of course - then I could afford to have an excellent Christmas.

At one Euro cent per word this post only costs 1 Euro. Bargain!

real beating Lyon this evening could be more than a dream.A lot of players can't play (fred, benzema, govou, wiltord). And it's a little bit more difficult for them in ligue 1 actually so i bet they will lose(even if i hope they win)

@panda
Good proposal. However, recent statistics brought by one of our Belgian friends showed that Bert could well move the headquarters of this forum and the new UEFA coeff and format committee somewhere on the border between Romania and Bulgaria. With so many participants on this forum (and thus, in the committee) we can well vote and pass whatever we want We have huge majority
Probably we'll decide that top countries will have decreased number of CL teams and more countries will have direct access in CL GS.
Probably our Romanian friends will officially proclaim Steaua as "Top European Team". I will be modestly satisfied if CSKA can win any European cup under any format. (I wonder what format should be invented so that they would play a little bit better)

"I wonder what format should be invented so that they would play a little bit better"

It's easy. Seeded teams play without the goalkeeper - ten players in the field.

Steaua - Dynamo Kiev 2-0
Rapid - Mlada 2-0
Brugges - Dinamo Buc. 0-2

I can live with this
