| Club Brugge just equalised in the 90th minute against Ruzomberok and prevented that the tie goes to extra time which means that the Slovaks will pick up 1 point.
It would be better for Croatia that Brugge didn't score in regular time, and THEN that they win in extra time and leave Ruzomberok without points. But that didn't happen. And irony is that the goal for Brugge scored - BOSKO BALABAN - the Croatian striker...
That point takes them up to the 25th place, and Croatia falls to the 26th place and could play CL-QR1 in 2008 for the first time. |

| Good team like Dinamo Zagreb was very unlucky with this year draw First Arsenal, then Auxere.
Good luck to them and their great Bad Boys Blue. |

| I think there is every chance for the champions of countries 26 and 27 to play in the second QR as well, so no worry there. As for Croatia's ranking, they completly deserve to be this low, after two miserable seasons. Slovakia's champions played in the GS of the CL last season, and with some succes too, so they are simply better than Croatia at the moment. But don't forget, Romania was also on 26th place a short while back and now they we are in the fight to get 3 teams in the CL! |

| Can somebody please tell me in which case the 26th place means that the champion of that country will start in CL-QR1? |

| "The defending Champions league cup-holder always takes part. If the defending cup-holder does not finish in a qualifying place in their domestic competition they will come in at the expense of the last-placed side of that association, except for associations ranked 16 or below (which implies that the champion of each country always takes part). In this case the last-placed team for the Champions League of that association has to take part in the UEFA Cup. Only if the defending Champions league cup-holder also did not qualify for the UEFA Cup this will lead to an additional UEFA Cup berth for that association.
If the defending cup holder already qualified directly for the group stage of the Champions League, the champion of the 10th country on the country ranking list will gain direct access to the group stage, the champion of the 16th country on the country ranking list will gain direct access to the 3rd qualifying round, and the champions of the 26th and 27th country on the country ranking list will gain direct access to the 2nd qualifying round. Similar changes are made if the cup holder already qualified directly for one of the qualification rounds. "
The champion of the 26th country will start in cl-qR1 if the title holder doesn't qualify via their league, and isn't in a top 3 country. Almost impossible. |

| But don't forget the Montenegrin Champions might be in next year - meaning an extra team would have to start in QR1... |

| In that case I suppose that the champion of 27th placed country goes to QR1. Right? |
