Edited by: dinamo_fan_4_ever at: 17-08-2006, 19:57 | how much do u think israel can gain this year in coeff judging after the uefa decision of home matches played on neutral pitch ?
they got 0.000 by now still to be played:
np/ beitar - dinamo bucharest (0-1) domlaze - h tel aviv (2-1) lok sofia - bney yehuda (2-0) np/ maccabi haifa - liverpool (1-2)
np/ maccabi haifa - X X- maccabi haifa *with m haifa unseeded UC R1 |

| I think even more important than having to play on a neutral pitch (Israeli clubs did quite well in the same situation a few years ago) is that due to the ridiculous regional grouping UEFA introduced Israel had 2 teams unseeded in UC QR2 that should have been seeded. I still have no explanation for that change, UEFA had also a regional grouping in the UEFA cup before 2004/05, but they followed the overall seeding before making the groups. This year Randers Freja with 5.593 are seeded and Young Boys Bern with 8.537 are not. That is really unfair!

| I think Hapoel,Beitar,Bnei Yehuda and Maccabi as well will be now eliminated. So only Maccabi will remain in UC but unseeded so I see it very bad with Israel coeff this season (maybe {1). |

| I agree, normaly { then 1,000. But you never know for sure. There are always a few teams you never expected who manage to survive. |

| Hallo there, I think that Israeli teams still have chances to score > 1.000 this year. First, Maccabi can draw versus Liverpool - they lost only 2-1 in England, why not draw outside England (by the way, if the match goes to a draw, Liverpool players will be satisfied and will not push it so hard to try to win). Second, Beitar lost only 1-0 to Dinamo in Romania. So, when they play outside Romania, they have chances to score better than 0-1 (at least a draw is possible). I hope Loko Sofia will be motivated versus Bnei Yehuda, but even a draw is enough for them. Domzale won 2-1 o neutral ground to Hapoel. However, they need a draw to go through and playing in the small town of Domzale in Slovenia is not much different from playing on neutral ground. So, all Israeli teams have chances to score points. On average, they can earn 4 pts this round and that is 1.000 on average. Maccabi will go unseeded to UC R1, but still has chances to get weak seeded team and earn 1 or 2 pts. Anyway, this is really bad year for Israeli teams (and Israel as a country in general). I don't think that their coefficient will be restored to its prior heights. They will probably float between 21st and 26th place for several years. |

| Right for now we have 0.500 points. I hope Haifa and Hapoel will do the job because they are better than Litex and Odesa. Only the neutral ground can cause them to be eliminated.I hope that after the first round Israel will have 2 teams in group stage and at least 1.500 points. |

| Hapoel TA was a big surprise for me after the 1-2 home defeat. More than 1,000 is now, also because of the draw, possible. Won't expect much of them though. 21th place looks out of reach. |

| Hapoel lost 2-1 at "home" but won 3-0 in slovenia so it is a better team than Domzale. If the uefa decides on thursday that the game of Hapoel will take place in Israel, it will be fine. After this round we will now if Israel can be 21 but you are right that the chances is not high... |

What makes you think that? Romanian style from Israel? |

| I like to be optimistic. But also Haifa did not make it to Cl group stage becasue it was drawn against liverpool, and without playing at home. Haopoel plays great at home, so if they will have good result in ukraine and they can play in Bloomfield they have good chance. And I hate Hapoel so if we were like 12-13 place now in the ranking I would be more than happy if they lose... |
