| I don't know where to look, so I ask here in the forum:
Romours say players who did compete in the UEFA Cup this fall may play in the Champions League for another club already this spring. Is this true?
Does this apply to other way too? E.g. Champions League "cup-tied" players may play for their new club in the UEFA Cup? |

| Yes, UEFA changed the rules last summer. Players can play for a different club after the winterbreak, but only in the other European tournament.
A few examples in the Netherlands:
-Huntelaar played UEFA-cup for Heerenveen and can now play CL for ajax -Koné played Intertoto for Roda JC and can now play CL for PSV -Robert played CL for PSV and can now play UEFA-cup for Betis -Ball played CL for Rangers and cannot play CL for PSV (he could have played UEFA-cup if PSV had dropped to UEFA-cup). |

| So someone who played for Liverpool in CL this season could now play UEFA Cup for another team, and someone who played for Bolton Wanderers in the UEFA Cup could now play CL for another team, but someone who played CL and UEFA Cup for Everton cannot now play for another club in Europe this season?? And what if a player was fielded in one competition only (for Everton or other CLQ3 losers)? Looks like they can now represent another club in the other tournament. |

| Every team can add three new players to their CL/UEFA Cup squad but the number of players in the squad can't exceed 25. Of the three new players just one can have played in another European competition this season. |

| Liverpool have just signed Jan Kromkamp from Villareal and he is ineligible for the Champions League having played for Villareal.
Liverpool are rumoured to be signing Daniel Agger from Brondby - he played in the 3rd qualifying round, so will he be eligible for Liverpool in the later rounds? |

| No, I don't think so. Same situation with Michael Ball, who played in the 3rd QR for Rangers. He can't play for PSV in the CL the rest of the season. |
