| As PSV is my team, I can not be completely objective, and I agree that this group is very competitive. Milan is not in its best form, and so drops points, but will end up first. Who will be second, third, fourth is incredibly unsure. Here follows 1 scenario(of the 729 possible):
Schalke-Fenerbahce HOME (Fenerbahce has more problems away then home) PSV-Milan AWAY (they should have won already last week, this time they will win. PSV has no attack currently) [Milan 8, Schalke 5, Fener 4, PSV 4>
Fenerbahce-Milan DRAW (I hope Fener has learned now that Milan most of the times strikes in the last minutes. If they do they can DRAW this match Schalke-PSV HOME (Schalke is doing well and must win for next round) [Milan 9, Schalke 8, Fener 5 PSV 4>
Milan-Schalke DRAW (Milan already sure of next round, Schalke needs a draw for that, and so it will be) PSV-Fenerbahce HOME (at home PSV should be able to at least win and forget the disastrous 3-0) Milan 10, Schalke 9, PSV 7, Fener 5 |

Edited by: sayko at: 24-10-2005, 16:07 | As a Fenerbahce faN i can't be completely objective too so here is my scenerio:
Schalke-Fenerbahce DRAW(we have to be very lucky that day because Schalke is very strong) PSV-Milan AWAY (psv cant be so lucky just like in italy)
Fenerbahce-Milan DRAW(nobody can beat us in İstanbul in this group) Schalke-PSV HOME(i watched both team against fenerbahce and schalke is absolutely the better one)
Milan-Schalke HOME PSV-Fenerbahce DRAW
Milan 11 Fenerbahce 7 Schalke 6 PSV 6 |

| I am also a Fenerbahçe fan. Here is my scenerio:
Shalke04-Fenerbahçe: AWAY (Shalke04 has to win. Fenerbahçe will play defensive for contra-attack. This is the match of Tuncay Şanlı and Nicolas Anelka. If Shalke04 thinks it will easier, they will lose.)
PSV-Milan: HOME (Although Mialn is the favourite team, I think PSV is also a good team. This seems unlogical, but my prediction is PSV.)
Fenerbahçe 7 PSV 7 Milan 5 Shalke 2
Fenerbahçe-Milan: AWAY (Mialn should win, and they cn win, that's Milan) Shalke-PSV: HOME (I hope)
Milan 8 Fenerbahçe 7 PSV 7 Shalke 5
PSV-Fenerbahçe: DRAW (That's a logical prediction) Shalke-Milan:HOME (I hope)
Milan 8 Fenerbahçe 8 PSV 8 Shalke 8
I dont know what will be the situation if all teams have 8 points. The last situation is just to show that all have 8 points. I think in this situation goal differences between four teams will be important. Can you think of a situation like that? Fantasy??? |

| Actually in matchday 6 it's Milan-Schalke in San Siro, so a Schalke win isn't that likely. Would be nice to see everyone tied for first though. |

| I already feel pity for number 4, whoever that's going to be, having 8 points and being out-incredible. PSV managed to be 3rd a few times with 8 or 9 points, but never 4th. I feel sorry for number 4 in this group anyway, it's a tough group. |

| Just to inform the PSV and Fener supporters: The "doing very well" and "are so strong" Schalke lost 0-6 in Germany's midweek cup 2nd round to relegation candidate Frankfurt. So, for the upcoming weeks, they are no more "Schalke 04", but "Schalke 06".
Obviously, that defeat lead to much trouble. We'll see if they can push back in next week's CL. |

| Let's hope they(Schalke) keep that form for another couple of weeks! P.S. after last years loss of Ajax at home to PSV 0-4, we talked here about Ajax '04. I wonder how many jokes are already made about this extension - mainly Schalke jokes, ofcourse, but well, they are 'worldfamous' nowadays. |

| incredible PSV, and they even deserved to win, it was not a lucky win. Strange scenarios come in my mind (a bit like fesis'): Schalke-PSV HOME Fener-Milan HOME Schalke 8, PSV 7, Fener 7, Milan 5
Milan-Schalke HOME PSV-Fener DRAW All teams 8 - which order is held then?
Ofcourse if Milan wins at Fenerbahce and PSV manages a draw at Schalke, PSV is through! (PSV 8, Milan 8, Schalke 6, Fener 4). |

| When all teams are on 8 points, then the head-to-head goal difference count (= the overal goal difference; head-to-head points is off course also equal). |

| A bit late, Ricardo, but none the less congrats. Always nice to see that teams like PSV, Lyon, Bayern, Liverpool, Betis etc. (even if there might be some differences) can beat the big guns.
I think that PSV is almost through. (Is this English?) Even if Schalke will win v PSV, PSV should win v Fener at home. The tragedy for Schalke is that (a Milan win in Istanbul assumed) they must win in San Siro to qualify. Or take a 3-3 draw. |

| Though I would love to see Milan out, a Milan win at Fenerb. is the best thing for PSV as it almost rules out Fenerb. I think it is possible for Schalke to win at San Siro. Milan was not very convincing to me. What a pity Fenerbahce did not hold to the draw in the first match - Milan would be on just 3 points! |

| ignjat, Andy, thanks for your comments. They help. ![](include/smilies/s2.gif)
To be serious again, I call as big guns the top favourites for winning the CL. As there are Barca, Real, Chelsea, Juve and Milan. However, I said before the season that teams from what I call "second line" as Bayern, Liverpool, Lyon etc. (not PSV because of the loss of van Bommel, Park, Vogel, Lee etc., but maybe I was wrong there) MAYBE can win the CL as did Porto and Liverpool in the previous years.
But both of you obviously won't believe the state of the discussion in Germany where most people say that Bayern has not any chance of winning the CL because the mentioned teams are clearly better. Of course, they don't realise what Liverpool did last year.
Andy, of course Liverpool is a big gun as it comes to reputation, titles (5 CC) etc. However, if I see the Reds' performances in the PL and compare it with Chelsea etc., I can't tell them - as far as I would like to - as a favourite for the CL win. |

Edited by: Andy at: 04-11-2005, 04:30 | I see what you mean now ralfinho...very true, both Liverpool and Bayern Munchen are both huge clubs but as you rightly say they are not among the favourites for this years CL, As a Celtic fan i keep an eye on the PL down in England and Liverpool are clearly in a transition period and are very inconsistent playing brilliant one week and not so the next while Bayern Munchen are weaker in some ares than other teams, so i do now see what you mean. For me its Barca to win the trophy in May. |

| Yes, Andy, that's what I meant. Sorry, apparently my term "big guns" was easy to misunderstand. I better should have used "current top favourites". |
