| I just put my first seedings for the CL and UEFA-cup 2006/07 online. You can find them this season here: http://home.wanadoo.nl/g.mentink/seedings%20Europacup%2006-07.html.
I didn't make regional groupings so far. For UEFA-cup QR1 this could be done rather easily, but for QR2 I would have to change them every week, because the 11 teams from the Intertoto can change every week. So I keep one list for these rounds for now. |

| Thx Forza, and congrat with AZ. Puuh! I wonder, since uefa.com have changed their site, so (at least) I can't use MSQueries on the different leagues in Europe, how do YOU make it out? The hard way? |

| I just use queries again. I only had to make the sheet from scratch, because they changed all the links. But when you input the new links it just works the same as it did last year. |

| Hi Forza, First of all, great work as usuall.
Second, how do you put the Israeli champion directly in CL QR3? Israel will probably not be in the 15th spot, so its champion will have to start in QR2. Or is it because you assume Israel will be in the 16th place, and TH spot will not be used? |
Author: Forza-AZ
Date: 04-10-2005, 19:58
| @EarlofBug
Yes, for now I assume that there is no TH-spot (see my assumptions on my site), so that's why I have the Israeli champion in QR3. |

Date: 04-10-2005, 20:07
| EarlofBug, remember that the setup for 2006-07 is based on country ranking from 2004-05, where Israel ended up on 16th place. |

Israel is definitely in 16th place. The entry list for next year is decided by the ranking from 2004/05.

| Yes, I know Israel is 16th. I just assume there is no TH, so then the champion of country 16 will start in QR3. I will change that when it will be likely that there will be a TH-spot later in the season. |

Edited by: Forza-AZ at: 17-10-2005, 21:27 | Djurgarden became Swedish champions today, and so are qualified for the 2nd QR of next years CL.
As a result 2nd division team Advidabergs is qualified for the UEFA-cup, as they play Djurgarden in the Swedish Cup final. Also Göteborg is in next years UEFA-cup. Malmö is in the Intertoto.
Tomorrow I give my new seedinglist after all weekend matches. |

| Forza, maybe you can add the Fairplay teams you are adding to the page, like you have the Intertoto mentioned.
dikefalos_toy_vorra, if you want to see a possible split up of the UefaCup Qualification rounds in regional groupings check my site and select UefaCup 06/07 prediction on the right. I have no FairPlay spots on it and spread the Intertoto teams randomly over North, Central and South. The end result is close to Forza's(Sorry for this, you deserve the compliment ofcourse) |
Author: Forza-AZ
Date: 25-10-2005, 16:49
| @Ricardo
What do you mean exactly about Fair Play?
This assumption is at the top of the page:
The same 3 countries (Germany, Norway and Denmark) as last season will get a Fair Play-spot and the highest team not yet qualified for the CL and UEFA-cup will get that spot.
And the teams that I added as Fair Play teams have (FP) behind their names.
I don't have the same teams every week. I just take the highest not yet qualified for CL and UEFA-cup, as long as no Fair Play rankings for the countries are known yet. |

| Dear Ricardo,
I have just visited the web site you suggested me and I am amazed too. Congratulations to you! Bravo, very good work. Is that site exclusive yourself?
I would like to help you enlarging your site with the way I can, as I saw that you have a topic about the domestic cups. My country's football federation (EPO, I am from Greece) has published the dates in which Greek cup's matches will be taken part in 2005-2006 season.
I am first informing you the process of Greek cup that will be taken part. We are now to the stage which 32 teams (all of first division) are taken part. 16 matches will be taken part in the lower divisions teams's stadium. So 16 teams will be qualified. In case of none team win at 90 minutes, it will be given extra time and then penalties. That matches will be taken place in 26 and 27 /10/2005 and 08 - 10 / 11 / 2005.
NEXT STAGE: 8 matches will be given(the teams which will have been qualified from the previous stage). Matches will be given into the stadiums of the teams that will be come up after a draw. In case of none team win at 90 minutes then it will be taken part another match to the guest's stadium. In case of none team win at 90 minutes and after that match,t will be given extra time and then penalties. The double guest's goal will not be accounted. That matches will be taken place in 20 and 21 / 12 / 2005 and 28 - 29 / 12 / 2005(in case of any second match).
QUARTER-FINAL STAGE: 4 matches will be given(the teams which will have been qualified from the previous stage). It will be taken part two matches as usual. That matches will be taken place in 24 - 26 / 01 / 2006 and 07 - 09 / 02 / 2006(the second matches).
SEMI-FINAL STAGE: 2 matches will be given(the teams which will have been qualified from the previous stage). It will be taken part two matches as usual. That matches will be taken place in 21 - 22 / 03 / 2006 and 11 - 12 / 04 / 2006(the second matches).
FINAL: The final match of Greek cup will be taken part in 6th May 2006 in Crete.
My country's football federation has published that no change will be taken place to that dates.(but let me doubt about that).
I hope that I have helped you to enlarge your website and if you have any question I will be very glad to answer you about greece football.
I will also to do me the favour of change the name Macedonia and replace it with the name FYROM. I am from North Greece and it hurts me calling that country as Macedonia, althought I know that everywhere is called by that name. But I want to do smth about my birth place.
Again congratulation.

According to the system of the last few years Romania (25th in the current ranking: 2005) would have 1 team in QR1 and 1 team in either QR1 or QR2 (depending on if there would have been a TH). But with the new Intertoto format most likely more teams will have to start in QR1, so I assume for now that countries ranked 24 and lower will have both teams in QR1.
You might be confused with the 2006 ranking, in which Romania is 17th at the moment, but that ranking determines in which round the teams start in the 2007/08 CL and UEFA-cup. For next seasons the ranking of 2005 is used and in that one Romania is 25th. |

| I made a small addition to the seedings. I have now also listed which teams will be seeded in each of the 3 Intertoto-rounds.
As said on uefa.com the teams from countries ranked 1-8 will start in R3, 15 teams start in R2 (I assume this are the teams from countries ranked 9-23) and 26 teams start in R1 (I assume this are the teams from countries ranked 24 and lower). |

| I also added the seeding access list 06-07 on my site, because I get much question in which round teams start.
On the bottom also all possibilities are listed for the TH. By the way, I still assume that when the CL-winner isn't qualified for the CL via their league, then that country gets an extra CL-spot (except when they are from the top 3: Spain, England, Italy). |

According to http://www.rsssf.com/tablesz/zwedcup05.html Djurgarden beat Elfsborg in the semifinal (2-1) and the final is next Saturday between Djurgarden and Atvidabergs.
I think you are mistaken with the last league round last Sunday. In that round Djurgarden beat Elfsborg 8-1, but that was a league match and not a Cup match. |

25 Romania 0.833 2.625 2.166 4.333 5.500 15.457 3
Romania will move up 2007/2008 when this seasons rankings will come into effect! |

| @Forza: I meant that you have such a nice listing of all Intertoto teams mentioned apart from having them in the Q2 listing, the you could have a short list of the 3 teams that you currently have as FairPlay teams. I know they are also mentioned in the Q1 list with (FP) behind it. Great work with the Intertoto rounds by the way.
@Dikefalos: Thanks, that's what I do it for: compliments. Last year there was kind of 'competition' that lead to the creation of a couple of websites with all this info. My domestic cup is not yet as good as it should be. I included your dates and will hope to get some time to get all the dates.
P.S congratulations to Ekranas, who became Lithuanian champion last night and is our 7th champion that is sure of next year's CL! (another 3 will probably follow this weekend) |

The numbers of teams that can participate from each country is determined before the national leagues start (only summer leagues are just underway when the ranking is final), because then all teams know what they can earn in the season before the season starts. So the countryranking of 2005 (results from 2000-2005) determines how many teams will qualify in the domestic leagues/cups of 2005/06 (and summer leagues 2005) for the CL and UEFA-cup 2006/07.
So that means this years results in CL and UEFA-cup have no influence on the number of teams that qualify for CL and UEFA-cup 2006/07.
Romania is 25th in the 2005 ranking, so from this seasons league and Cup 3 Romanian teams will qualify for CL and UEFA-cup 2006/07. In the 2001-2006 ranking Romania is now 17th. If they still are 17th at the end of the season, then in the Romanian league/cup of 2006/07 they have 4 spots (1 CL, 3 UEFA-cup) to be divided for the CL/UEFA-cup 2007/08.
So to sum it up, there is a 1 year delay in the countryranking which determines the number of teams, to make sure teams know what they can earn before the season starts. |
