| Today CL matches can obviously operate provisory changes to team ranking. - By doing one more point than AC Milan, Real Madrid can catch the first place in the ranking. - In 6th place, Inter Milan can overcome ManUtd and Liverpool depending also on the english preformances today and tomorrow. - Porto will stay in 9th place this week whatever happens; Arsenal (playing tomorrow) will also stay in 10th place. - PSV will sooner or later catch Newcastle and Deportivo but it can be just today, a draw is enough to catch 11th place. - Lyon will remain 14th until at least tomorrow (Bayern can cath them). But Bayern can also be catched by Chelsea today. - Schalke 04 can get the 30th place (overcoming Monaco, Bordeaux and Brugge) with just a draw. - With a victory, Olympiakos (36) can get the 34th place (provisory, as both Lille and Sparta play tomorrow). - Anderlecht (43) can also gain two places over Benfica and AEK that then can recover. - The actual place of Marseille (49) can be catched by 3 clubs: Rangers (50), Betis (54) and Rosenborg (56). To do so scotish and spanish need a draw and norwegian a win. - Fenerbache can move from nr. 75 to nr. 70 and Artmedia from nr. 181 to nr. 164. |

| Nobody seems to care abot this but here i go again... For today matches...
- Barcelona will remain 3rd, Juventus 8th and Arsenal 10th. - Manchester United can get Liverpool (nr4) again and put Inter behind again, if wins. - Bayern can catch Chelsea again in 15th place; while Panathinaikos will remain 17th. - Villarreal can jump one place to Roma?s actual 20th place; while Ajax will remain 27th. - A Brugge win make them move two places to the 30th place (over Bordaux not in Europe and Monaco that play tomorrow) - The 34th place is discussed today with Sparta having to do at least as much points as Lille to maintain the position. - With a victory Benfica can jump from nr.42 to nr.38 catching Boavista (not in Europe) - Bremen (nr53) win make them get Hertha (nr49) - Udinese can jump from nr75 to nr70 (Lens actual place), if wins. - Rapid win means a jump from nr134 to nr119. - Thun win means a provisory advance of 20 places, from nr164 to nr144 (overcoming St. Gallen) |

Edited by: ralfinho at: 15-09-2005, 00:54 | I DO care, porto. Indeed, very much in this season. You may understand, why. ![](include/smilies/s2.gif)
Chelsea did not catch Bayern. Up to now. Within a few match days, Bayern will catch Depor and Newcastle.
However, the top 8 (or 9 ? ) seem to be unreachable. Realistic target is rank 10 or 11 after this season. Then we have to pray that 2 or 3 from the higher ranked teams do not qualify for the CL next season. ![](include/smilies/s2.gif) |

| I find this too interesting, but all these teams play another 5 matches after tonight. If one passes another by just 1 point, there are 5 more opportunities that they will change places again. I prefer to llok at the long term: Can Arsenal catch Porto? Can either of them catch Valencia. Personal interest is ofcrouse where PSV wll end(with another semi-final they can be in top-8, catching Valencia, but that's not very probable. They can drop all the way to spot 20, butalso that is not very probable-especially not after what I saw (first half) against Schalke). They will have trouble keeping of Chelsea, Lyon and Bayern. Others I don't think of as a danger(yet). |

| Ah! Ok, thanks for the feed back!
Today many things may happen so it would be a lot of work to sumarize it...
Maybe better to turn to long term issues. Arsenal can catch Porto but it will not be easy. The difference is considerable. As long as Porto don?t finish in last place of CL group i believe will not be catched by no team and will catch Valencia finishing probably in 8th place. About PSV i think they can catch Valencia and Arsenal and finish in 9th place. To catch Porto is more dificult but still possible. The other way around the worst it can happens is not to catch none of that 3 and be catched by Lyon, Bayern and Chelsea. So PSV will almost for sure finish between 8th and 14th place.
I think Sporting can get Celtic and Parma and finish in top-20. But they have teams like Monaco, Stuttgart, Schalke, Ajax and other on their back. If they finish at least in 3rd place in their CL group, Benfica can at least catch Bordeaux (nr.30) Lille and others. But also dangerous teams on their back... Most of them will catch Boavista that still can maintain in top50, about CLQ3 seeded line... The other portuguese teams let?s see... Hope one or two of them get enough points to be seeded in UCR1 when they get back in Europe... And then i hope they get back soon... |

| Porto will at least keep Artmedia behind them and so will play on after Christmas. Being 2nd might be less profitable in a point of view, but I still think they will be. Arsenal was not impressive yesterday, but they have Sparta Prague and Thun in the group - they will play a lot more matches. PSV is in a difficult group, where they will have to work for every point they want. It is absolutely not yet sure if they will make it till after Christmas. And to catch Valencia- they need a semi-final, I'm afraid that's out of the question (or it should be UC) Lyon, Bayern and Chelsea will certainly be in CL after Christmas. PSV will really have to improve if they wnat to stay ahead of at least 1. SCP is currently flanked by Feyenoord and Ajax. All 3 should be able to pass Celtic and play after Christmas. I guess the real decisions who's 20 - who's 40, will only fall after the winter break. I also expect AZ to do well again this year, though they won't be able to enter the top-30. Other Dutch teams Heerenveen is not running well at the moment and will have trouble against Banik Ostrava though they should not and Willem 2 will be out against Monaco |

| It's nice to know all this but is this important. Yes to be seeded in first or second pot in Group Stage of CL.
It's more interesting very below where teams are struggling to gain points to become seeded or not in 1st round of Uefa cup or to become seeded for the third qualifying round of CL |
