| if you take all teams with highest coefficient to win, as well in CL as in UC, then you get Zenit as being Nr 40. But already 1 change has taken place: Lokomotiv Moskou will play instead of Rapid Wien. That will make Zenit Nr 41 and Grasshoppers Nr 40. There will be some more surprises as well in CL(higher coefficient needed) as in UC (lower coefficient needed for seeding. I think Mainz has a good chance of being the last seeded team |

| After the results of Tue night in CL QR3 and UIC the boundary between seeded and unseeded in UC R1 has shifted up two places. This is because Partizan is now in UC (instead of expected Artmedia) and Lokomotiv Moscow is now in UC (instead of expected Rapid Vienna). So currently the last seeded club would be Maccabi Tel Aviv while Grasshoppers would be unseeded.
Potential changes: The boundary could shift up potentially two places if Valerenga beat Brugge or Anothosis beat Rangers in CL QR3 on Wed. This means that Brondby is now the last club guaranteed seeding in UC R1.
The boundary could shift down if the following clubs (currently expected to be seeded) would lose in UC QR2 on Thu: Besiktas, Austria, GAK, Dnipro, Crvena Zvezda, Genk, Maccabi Tel Aviv.
To me (judging on first leg scores) it seems the ties with most chance of having the above effect are Valerenga to win in CL QR3, and Maccabi Tel Aviv to lose in UC QR2. Therefore I guess that the boundary will have one gain, one loss and the last seeded team will be Grasshoppers (first unseeded will be Zenit).
Of course I'm sure there will be some upsets that can't be predicted but the above is my best guess. |

| And for the pots in CL, after Tue results it means that Ajax move up to Pot 2, and Rangers and Bremen move up to Pot 3.
Of course this depends on these teams still have to win in QR3. If there are more upsets then other teams could take advantage instead. |

Edited by: Forza-AZ at: 24-08-2005, 12:40 | Last teams that are 100% certain of seeding are Sampdoria and Palermo now.
CL-matches that matter now for this seeding are: Debreceni-Manchester United Club Brugge-Vålerenga Rangers-Anorthosis Famagusta FC AFC Ajax(Ned)-Brøndby IF(Den)
I predict one surprise here. Club Brugge might lose. Rangers and Manchester will go through easily and Ajax will also go on, so border shifts one up: Maccabi Tel Aviv will be unseeded.
For UEFA-cup the matches of these teams matter than:
Besiktas Tur 37,872 U Q2 (will win) Crvena Zvezda Ser 21,012 U Q2 (will win) Austria Aus 27,209 U Q2 (will win) GAK Aus 25,209 U Q2 (will win) Dnipro Ukr 24,200 U Q2 (will win) Genk Bel 19,477 U Q2 (will win)
All have won their away match already, so most likely all will go on. That means Genk will be the last seeded team.
If both Ajax and Club Brugge will lose, then even Steaua will be the last seeded team and Genk will be unseeded. If both Ajax and Club Brugge will win, then also the match of Maccabi Tel Aviv in UEFA-cup matters. They lost 1-0 away, so they could get eliminated. Grasshoppers, Zenit or Teplice could then take the last seeded place (if they win their QR2 match; I think at least one of them will). |
