| Hi again guys! I moved from Norway to Portugal some four months ago, and my departure obviously had a devastating effect on my team Rosenborg. I have not been able to follow Rosenborg closely, but now I finally got Internet-connection at home (things work fascinatingly slowly here), and well, tonights result in Bucuresti is one step in the right direction.
There is still a possibility for four Nordic teams in CL group stage, but after first match it seems that the Norwegian teams have the best chances. But Malmo and Brondby are still hanging in there. My guess is that Valerengen will be the only Nordic participant. According to match reports Rosenborg had a tough time in Romania, and was very lucky to save a draw and an away goal. And Rosenborgs merits in CL doesn't neccesarily help them. New coach and lots of new players with no experience on this level.
My hope is of course that Rosenborg (or/and Valerengen) will go through and end up in a group with either Benfica or Porto, so I will be able to watch them on Portuguese TV. |

| Congratulations! Rosenborg made a good result, they need to go to the Group Stage. Trondheim is better then Romanians, but I think there will be a close match at Norway. But you are the favourite. (sorry about my English) |

| Hi Anita,
Since You left Norway, Rosenborg cant make it. You need to go back if You whant Your team to start winning And I missed Your reports from Norway. Polish are now following Valerenga closely But this year I think there will not be any confrontation between polish and norwegian teams...i hope!
Portugal is nice country. I was in Sintra fiew times and its beutifull place Enjoy Portugal!
Best regards Kronsky |

| Thx, budaig. A long shot, but if Rosenborg qualify for CLGS, they have a fair chance to be seeded in Pot 3. Panathinaikos, Werder, Anderlecht, Monaco and (so far) Sporting are living dangerously, and neither Brügge nor Ajax (or Lokomotiv) are safe. Well, I need five of these teams to be eliminated...And Rosenborg to go through...Hmmm. |

| Hi to you as well, Kronsky. Nice to be back. Congrat with strong performance by Wisla Krakow. We could actually have a clash between Wisla and Rosenborg if both teams qualify for GS and Rosenborg is seeded in Pot 3... |

| Thanks Anita
Well...I wish Rosenborg all luck so they make it to pot 3 but not in the same group as Wisla (if they make it).
Valerenga impress on many. How good are they?
All the best Kronsky |

After this leg there's quite a few seeded teams in danger, but neither of them looks in enough trouble to write off right away (heck, even Celtic almost made it back). Looking good for Wisla and Udinese though. |

| Osirius, as you may observe, Lokomotiv was the eighth team I mentioned. Five is enough..
And Kronsky, without having followed Norwegian football closely later months, Valerengen is a strong team. They sold defender Erik Hagen to Zenith St. Petersburg and mid-fielder Jorgen Jalland to Rubin Kazan last winter, so I am not too sure how strong their defence is, but their coach is a former international defender, so I presume he knows his job. Up front they have Steffen Iversen (former Tottenham and probably on his way to Italy soon) and Tore Andre Flo (former Chelsea, Rangers and Siena), and they generally have a strong squad.
I expected them to give Rosenborg a hard time for the championship this season. Well, Rosenborg gave themselves hard times..
Valerengen is my "hate"-team in Norway, but as a Norwegian I wish them of course all luck in Europe. My percentages don't mean squat, but I give them more than 50% chance to go through to CLGS. I have seen Brügge a couple of times on TV in pre-season, and they did not impress me. No offense meant. |

| Yeeaah, Edgar, I think Rosenborg will be in all kind of trouble on home ground as well against Steaua, but remember, I have said that every year since.... ,and Rosenborg have been in pretty many CLGS's |

| Rosenborg were crap last year, have been even worse this year, and their winning streak will certainly stop at 13 consecutive league titles during the years 1992-2004. This in despite of having perhaps the club's strongest squad ever. Their rather unexperienced coach withdrew from his position after yet another sorry performance and losing yet another game at Lerkendal last sunday. Former coach of Tromsø IL, and the Norwegian U21 and ladies' national team, Per-Mathias Høgmo took over on monday, and the game in Bucharest were his first as Rosenborg coach. Rosenborg were lucky to get a draw, but at the same time there were improvements from their latest league matches. My guess is that Steaua will meet a team that has worked quite a few things out, and that will be very hard to beat when they visit Trondheim in two weeks.
As for Vålerenga, they are probably the strongest Norwegian team at the moment, and even though they are still only second in the league, they are definately the biggest favourite to be the club that eventually manages to break Rosenborg's winning streak. I think they have a fair chance to qualify for Champions League. |

Is it Rosenborgs "fall and raise" or "raise and fall"? |

| For illiterates, Edward Gibbon wrote a splendid history book called "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire".
Well, Kronsky, I wrote what I wrote, and a draw in Bucuresti was absolutely a rise. Like mentioned before, I have no idea what happened this season, and I am totally bewildered by NOR league this year. Valerengen is doing badly (over par) as well. Both Valerengen and Rosenborg squads good enough for CLGS (compared to opponents), but performances in domestic league are not ensuring.
Maybe NOR Premier League has become tougher. I presume that all NOR teams will go through from UCQR2 (maybe not Tromso..?), and in UCR1 all NOR teams (except Rosenborg, if they don't qualify for CLGS) will be unseeded. Then we may compare and make up status. I am carefully optimistic, because I think NOR Premier league is far better than Swedish and generally better than Danish.
Offense meant to Danes and Swedes |

| Brann's draw against Alliansi and Rosenborg's draw against Steaua are the only points lost by Norwegian clubs so far, but the Swedes don't seem to do very well though. Brann coach Mjelde decided after the Game against Alliansi that his team not scoring was a once in a lifetime event. Brann dominated the game, and missed no less than fourteen great attempts including two penalties. |
