Date: 10-08-2005, 12:31 | What happened in Cluj was shameful for UEFA and for Lens. The ref didn't award Cluj the most obvious penalty kick I've seen in years. I mean, really, IT CANNOT GET CLEARER THAN THAT. Plus, the French keeper should have got the red card. Cluj claimed another penalty, after a clear handball in the box. Of course, nothing given. Despite the horrible referreing, one Polish asshole clearly determined to help Lens, the Romanians played great, attacked from first to last minute, missed plenty of chances. Lens had 2 opportunities to score, scored one, and in the final minutes they were complete jerks by doing everything in their power to waste time. This is one of the most unfair results I've seen for a long time. Cluj totally deserved to win. |

They are "cleaning up" the mess, polish association have meeting today regarding this question. Lets hope for the better.Good luck to CLUJ in next match! Probably he just was a bad referee..... They say also in france, the stadium, and especially the field was not worth an European Cup. |

And Leroy's red card was totally deserved; the replays showed him punch one of Cluj's defenders. The one thing I am not so sure about is the free kick from which Cluj equalized, but that was far away from goal so you can't compare it with the penalties. About the stadium..... you're right, it's real crap. Small, awful, actually UEFA already told Cluj they can't play on that stadium, if they qualify for the UEFA Cup. |
