Many people says Ajax was in '72 champion off Holland
with 63 off the maximum 68 points what means 92,647%
of the maximum score.

But that's not real the truth.
In 1920 Be Quick Groningen received 41 of the macximum 44 points
what means 93,182% off the maximum score!!

In the Northern District they received 31 points in 16 matches
and in the finalpoule 10 out 6 what means totally 41 points
in 22 matches!!!!

In Holland the maximum score for the champion in 93,182%
but I'm very interested what's that score in other countries!?!?

In Portugal, in 1972/73, Benfica had 58 out of 60 points. In 30 matches, Benfica got 28 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses. Goals was 101-13.

I guess this gives 96,667%. Don't know of a better score in Portuguese league. Also interesting, the average goals per match was 3,36-0,43. The runner-up (Belenenses) was 18 points behind, meaning 9 wins behind back in those days. FC Porto and Sporting (other usual contenders) were 4th and 5th.

In Germany the highest score (since introduction of the Bundesliga in 1963) was in 1971/72 by Bayern München: 55 points out of 34 matches = 80.88%.
That was the team with Sepp Maier, Beckenbauer, Breitner, Schwarzenbeck, Uli Hoeneß and Gerd Müller who also were part of the german team that became European Champion in 1972 - many people say the best german national team ever.

In ex-Yu (from 1945 untill 1992) the highest score had Partizan in 1946/47 which was 47 points out of 52 matches. That gives 90,39%.

By the way, in 1956/1957 Lokomotiva Zagreb was last with 10 wins out of 26 matches (14-team league that year). That gives 38,46% of wins. I would like to know if any other team had better percentage of wins and took the last place at the end of the season.

In the same year Be Quick became champion of Holland they made 120 goals
in 22 matches what means a moyenne of 5,45455 goal in each match.
In 1931 Velocitas Groningen became not champion of Holland but made
that year 100 goals in 18 matches what means a moyenne of 5,55556 goals
in each match.

Are there teams in countries with an higher mayenne in goals?!?!?

Apart from Rangers getting 100% in 1900 (18 wins from 18 games), the highest %ages - with 2 points for a win - in Scotland are

Celtic 1968 - 63 points/68 - 92.64%
Hearts 1958 - 62/68 - 91.17
Rangers 1968 - 61/68 - 89.71
Celtic 1972 - 60/68 - 88.24

Yes,

It's true!!
But what ware the most GOALS a team made in one season?!?!?
In 1947 Holland Heerenveen made 143 goals in 30 matches,
what means a moyenne/average of 4,7666667 in each match.

In 1920 Be Quick made 120 goals in 22 matches,
what means an average of 5,4545455 in each match.

143 Is more than 120, but the average 5,4546 higher than 4,667.
In 1932 Velocitas made 100 goals in 18 matches,
what means an average of 5,5555556.
120 Is more than 100, but the average don't.

Of the 3 teams I called
only Be Quick became chanpion whit that average.

Not a record, but worth mentioning Gretna's exploits in Scottish League Division 3 this season

So far, played 26, won 22, drawn 2, lost 2. 68 out of 78 points (87.2%).

90 goals scored (average of 3.46 per game) of which Kenny Deuchar has scored 30. If they beat the bottom team (East Stirlingshire) this weekend, they will be promoted. A February promotion for a league that runs til May is pretty good, huh?

By the way, for those who don't know, Gretna is famous as the place to which impetuous english couples would elope to get married. This is because it was the first place they came to when they crossed the border. So now you know...
