Date: 16-12-2004, 13:38 | Well done indeed. Of course 2nd league clubs have reached the last 4 of the old CWC. In view of this I wonder why more middle ranking teams in the big leagues don't go in for the Intertoto cup. If they get through they must have a good chance of progressing in the UC. |

Date: 16-12-2004, 23:58 | As far as I know the clubs are Cardiff City and Atalanta Bergamo. West Ham were a 1st division club when in the CWC final in 1976. They reached the last 8 in 1981 when in the 2nd Division - in the same year Newport County reached the last 8 as a level 4 club - which I think must be some sort of record! |
