I looked at some predictions we made before the groupphase of the CL and there was the following preidction made(by 29 of us)
group A was to be won by Depor(15 said that)l while Olympiakos was to become 4th(said by 24).
B was to be won by Real M(by all 29!)Roma was to be second(just ahead of Leverkusen and a bit more ahead of Kiew)
C was predicted correctly(19 had Juve on 1, 15 had Bayern on 2, 18 had Ajax as 3 and 27 had Maccabi at 4)
D was to be won by ManUtd(by 25). Lyon was our next best. Sparta was said to become 4th by 19.
E was also correctedicted(27 had Arsenal on 1, 19 had PSV 2nd, 12 had Panat on 3 and 18 had ROsenb on 4)
F Was said to be won by Barca(19 votes) And Celtic had a little advantage on ending 3rd.
G was wrong again. We thought Valencia was going to win this easy (22 votes for Val on 1). 22 had Anderlecht on 4
in H Chelsea was right predicted as the winner (by 24), Porto second(15), but CSKA was to become 4th according to 20.

So what are the biggest surprises? Nothing like last years Monaco, who we all thought of ending 4th and then winning their pool. More the other way around: the disappointing performance of Depor, Roma and Valencia. And minor performance problems with Madrid, ManUtd.

Best predictor(Most teams on the right place was:
drcgian with 20 (out of 32)
ToRn with 19
galatasaray with 17

Other statistics of the group-phase:
Pot A collected 69 points
Pot B collected 89 points
Pot C collected 48 points
Pot D collected 61 points
It's a pity PSV didn't win from Arsenal (or got a point in Athens) Then no pot-A team would have been group-winner.

Maccabi wasn't surprise? in this group, for a team that is so young in their first major seim with the sharks of europe...to lose 1:0 here against bayern in a game that we were worth a point, and beating ajax and almost beating juve as well...so yes we lost in horribole game against ajax away and the germans kicked our ass, but let's face it it's not easy to play against bayern even ajax lost there 4:0.
