Why, according to FORZA-AZ rankings Tromso is qualified for UEFA Cup from Norway, and according to DUNCAN's stats it is Lyn ????? (in my opinion since Lyn lost the cup to Brann next team from the table is qualified) That leads to the main question - if you can help me, please list all probable outcomes of the Cup Final results - I mean when do you qualify the next team in the league and when it is the Cup Loser that goes straight to European football?? for example CL - CL next team from the table whatever the result (CL means already qualified to the CL from the league) UE - none and so on... |

Date: 22-11-2004, 14:54 | According to Bert's main site: If the cup winner of a country also qualifies for the Champions League, then the losing team of the cup final is qualified for the UEFA Cup. If both cup finalists qualify for the Champions League, then an additional team based on league position will be qualified. However, the losing cup finalist does not get the UEFA Cup cup-winner spot, but is treated as a league entrant. The 'cup- winner' spot of that country goes to the team with the highest league position. In some countries (England and France) the last league entrant position is given to the League Cup Winner. So I guess Forza-AZ is right about this. Brann takes the Cupwinner-spot and Tromso the league-spot to answer your list: CL-CL: next in league CL-UE: next in league CL-none: none takes spot UE-UE: next in league UE-none: if UE wins: next in league (NOR situation) I have to admit I am not 100% sure about this. |

Date: 22-11-2004, 15:07 | The what about Armenian League - the cup final was Pyunik-Banants and Banants lost...But both guys (Forza and Duncan) put Ararat as the UEFA entrant (Ararat was 3rd and Banants was 4th in the league). According to Bert's site it should be Banants that goes through.. ??????????????????????????? (I need a big reset  ))) |
