| Actualy you did change something: You exchanged Auxerre by AZ. I agree in almost all of your predictions. I am not so sure in group A about Basel, but the whole fight for the 3rd place still has to start! They all have to play eachother still. Group E: Can Partizan take Lazio's place? Both loosing to Mbro and winning from Egaleo and it happens! For CL I would say Monaco iso Olympiakos. This UC-upphase is more interesting as I thought. The home advantage is there (except for Utrecht) and therefor surprising results! And because not all played 2 games yet, calculating predictions is very hard:Fun!! |

| Hi, my predictions UEFA Cup Group A Schalke, Feyenoord, FC Basel out Ferencvaros, Hearts (last match of Group Basel-Feyenoord us the key and I think that both would be satisfy with a draw resault) Group B Athletic Bilbao, Besiktas, AC Parma out Steaua, Standard (Parma won Steaua so Steaua must gain one more point - difficult) Group C Dnipro, Club Brugge, Austria (?) out Real (?), Utrecht (Will Utrecht take point(s) ?) Group D Newcastle, Sporting, Sochaux out Panionios, Dinamo (easy group) Group E Middlesbrough, Lazio, Partizan (?) out Villarreal, Egaleo (difficult group, 7 points is the key. One thing is sure, that Egaleo will finish with 0 points :-() Group F Rangers, AZ Alkmaar out Amica ( Very difficult to predict the 3rd team. Let's say GAK 51% Auxerre 49%) Group G Stuttgart, Benfica, Dinamo Z out Heerenveen, Beveren (I think that Group G is an easy group to predict) Group H Sevilla, AEK, Zenit out Lille, Aachen (Maybe you think that i am crazy putting AEK in next stage. But I think that AEK will win both matches at Athens)
From C.L. Group A Monaco Group B Leverkusen Group C Ajax Group D Sparta Group E Arsenal ( Why not ?) Group F Shakhtar Group G Valencia Group H PSG |

| UEFA Cup Group A Feyenoord, Schalke, Basel OUT Ferencvaros, Hearts (I don’t know a lot about the strength of Basel, but I think they will beat Hearts at home. Ferencvaros will probably lose both their away games, so Basel will go through) Group B Besiktas, Bilbao, AC Parma OUT Steaua, Standard (Besiktas and Bilbao are almost sure, looking at their home games. I think Parma will gain more points against Standard and Besiktas than Steaua against Besiktas, so Parma will go through) Group C Zaragoza, Dnipro, Austria OUT Brugge, Utrecht (I think the Austria-Brugge game will decide who will reach third round. I think Austria will win) Group D Newcastle, Sporting, Sochaux OUT Panionios, Dinamo (No surprise) Group E Middlesbrough, Villarreal, Partizan OUT Lazio, Egaleo (Lazio have to win next game against Partizan. Even a win doesn’t guarantee a place in next round and I don’t think Lazio will get 7 points) Group F AZ Alkmaar, Rangers, GAK OUT Auxerre, Amica (I think Auxerre will not win in Glasgow, GAK probably need only 1 point. I think they will get it) Group G Stuttgart, Benfica, Heerenveen OUT Zagreb, Beveren (The key-game is Zagreb-Heerenveen for third place. I think Heerenveen will win that game) Group H Sevilla, Zenit Lille OUT Aachen, AEK (AEK is the only team which is out for sure, with a loss by four and a difficult away game, Zenit will win at least once again, Sevilla will win at home against AEK and Lille will get more points in their last two games than Aachen)
From C.L. Group A Monaco (I think Monaco will draw or lose their next two games) Group B Kiev (Leverkusen will beat Kiev in last game) Group C Ajax (Maccabi will lose both games) Group D Sparta Praha (I think they win at home) Group E Panathinaikos (lose against PSV, Arsenal win against Rosenborg) Group F Shakhtar (Shaktar will get same results as Celtic) Group G Valencia (Although it won’t surprise me when they win twice and get second place) Group H Porto (Win or draw in Moscow looks enough to be third) |

| Hi krdeluxe i don't know where are you from but as i study your predictions for C.L. group stage and here you probably have a very bad opinion for greek teams. At C.L. predictions you had write 4th place for both Olympiakos and Panathinaikos and now you write that AEK will out at sure of next round. It seems to me that you forgot that AEK will play two matches ( with Lille and Aachen ) in Athens in frond of - be sure for that - at least 45000 people! Why not two win both matches ? Be sure AEK after the bad 2nd half with Zenit is a different team. Greetings from Greece |

| My own prediction is for AEK to qualify, top of their group - as you say they have 2 home games left which should give 6 points.
Panathinaikos - 3rd place in their ECL group, and last 8 in the UEFA Cup.
Panionios and Egaleo will not progress, I fear. |

| I hope that Panathinaikos will win both 2 matces (difficult for sure) Panionios it might win Dinamo at home but that's all Aigaleo not even one point. |

About CL-predictions: I don’t know a lot about Greek football and I thought Olympiakos is in a very strong group with last year’s finalist, semi finalist and Liverpool. Looking at the results of Olympiakos, they were last in groupstage for the last two years. That’s why I thought they would finish 4th. By the way, in the topic "predictions for CL round 4" my prediction was: Olympiakos – Monaco 3-1, and that was because I read some topics about Olympiakos. So I learn from the topics about Greek soccer (at least the strength of Olympiakos).
I saw Panathinaikos against PSV and it was poor (Rosenborg was better), so my prediction that Panathinaikos finish 4th wasn’t strange (although they probable will finish 3rd).
About AEK: First I think they will lose against Sevilla (just a prediction, not disrespect of Greek football). So maximum points for AEK will be 6. Even if they make 6 points, Sevilla, Zenit and Lille/Aachen can have 6 points too and AEK have the worst game difference by far. When AEK get less than 6 points they are out. "Sure" should be replaced by "99% sure")
(btw I’m from Holland, my predictions aren’t that bad (see CL preditions rankings) and I have to admit I’m not a big fan of Greek club football (maybe because were rivals for 6-8 place), but Greece winning the European Championship was one of the greatest moments I’ve seen in Football.) |

| Hi Krdeluxe I didn't want to offence you. You first thoughts about Olympiakos were right. But this year shows a different team and tactics since last years. I have seen all Panathinaikos matches in Europe since 1984. I must admit that the match against PSV was the worst Panathinaikos i have seen ( at least last 5 years). Thanks God Shum (previous coach) is past and the team is now playing football again in Europe. I think - but most of all i hope - that Panathinaikos will win both matches. Did you see the match against Arsenal ? About AEK: I agree with you that AEK will take maximum 6 points. The difference is that i believe that these would be and the minimum ! So in this case if Lille have 6 points too AEK will pass to next stage. I think that Zenit will not loose at home and i am sure that will win Aachen away.
Well we will see And again i never want to offence you Greetings from rainy Athens P.S. I never thought that AZ Alkmaar was such a good team !!! Only wins in European Cups and 3rd in Dutch Champ. I saw AZ against PAOK. Really good team!!! |

| groupA I guess Feyenoord should win from Basel, making a draw against Schalke enough for group-leader. Hearts homeadvantage makes them win over frencvaros: Feyenoord, Schalke, Hearts B Bilbao will win their 2 remaining games maing them group-leader. Parma-Besiktas will decide who will go on. 1-0 is not enough for Parma, 2-0 kicks Steaua out, 3-0 kicks Besiktas out(or sth like that: This sounds like an incredible thrilling scenario for 3 teams!!) Bilbao, Besiktas, Steaua C I (still) think highly of Brugge: Brugge, Dnipro, Zaragosa D No doubt who qualifies here: Newcastle, Sporting, Socheaux E. Lazio seems out, but I doubt if Partizan wil get another point Villareal, Middlesborough, Lazio F. Rangers and AZ sure. GAK or Auxerre??? Rangers, AZ, Auxerre G Heerenveen needs a draw against Zagreb Stuttgart, Benfica, Heerenveen H Zenit will not get a point against Aachen Lille, Sevilla, Aachen
As there are suprises every week, let's see what this weeks brings!! |

| wtf?? Did you by any chance see any of Partizan's games??? We destroyed Egaleo 4-0 in Belgrade and only a great deal of luck prevented Lazio of losing in Rome. Partizan will get at least 3 more points in the following two games and will finish at least 2nd in this group. |

| Ricardo, just a reminder about group D:
If tomorrow's results are normal, that means, Sporting and Panionios win their home matches being the favourites, in the last game between Sochaux - Panionios, Sochaux advances only with a win. Drawing or losing will give the ticket to Panionios. And even if Sochaux doesn't lose, Panionios advances with a win in France. I don't disagree of course that Sochaux is the favourite, but the 'no doubt' thing you wrote is a bit too much. |

| Partizan's chances are the goal difference. Lazio is 3:5 (-2) and Partizan is 6:2 (+4). Partizan needs a point and he's through. Though it is possible that Lazio scores a lot of goals against Eagaleo. Lazio's problem is poor defence not innability to score and Eagaleo is not the team to make use of Lazio's defense. Partizan has to be very cautios against Villareal and Middles'. |

| I guess from the 24 names I gave not more than 20 are correct. Panionis can be one of the missing ones. I tend to underestimate Greek football, as aris63 already has shown me lots of time. It's just a guess and I will be wrong about a few names. Can you also pick the other ones I have wrong? |

| Every group seems to have a weak team: A: well, ok not this one B: ahem, Standard has had its surprise too C: Utrecht?, I don't think so, D: Tblisi, yes, losing 0-2, 0-2 and 0-4 will qualify for weak team E: Aegaleo, is I guess also not too strong, I don't think they will get a point F: Amica can definitely also qualify for being a weak team G: Beveren is also one. Maybe they will surprise me against Benfica, but I hope they play weak again agaisnt Heerenveen. H: AEK is playing lousy too. But can you call the top of the league of the European-Champions weak?
I probably underestimate the greek teams again by having 2 greek teams in this list, but well: prove me wrong and I will be wrong. |
