| Have you experienced some amazing games in your respectives leagues.
We had in France last saturday two amazing games, 2 derbies by the way, what obviously is all the more sensitive for fans. In Monaco, Monaco was 3-0 up at the 60th minute vs. Nice and Nice managed to score 4 goals in the last 20 mn to win away 3-4. And in St Etienne, St Etienne was 2-1 up at the 88th minute to finally lose 2-3 to Lyon (penalty kick for Lyon at the 88th and saved by the keeper but Juninho managed to get the ball back and score for the equalizer, then Govou scored the winning goal at the 92th).
But the most amazing game ever happened some few years ago when Montpellier was 0-4 up at Marseille at half-time. Marseille finally won the game 5-4.
What about you ? |

| i remember that game 5-4, it was AMAZING, in ukraine cup final 1995 between SHAHTAR-DNIPRO=1:0 only goal in this game was made from defence mistake ,20 meters from goalie, 2 defenders pass the ball, but grass too soft and its rolling too slowly, one forward from shahtar stealing it, make ARTILLERY SHOT from 20 meters and it goaaaaalllll !!!!!!!!!! |

| I don't know if our Belgian friends remember of the Lens-Anderlecht game in the 80s in UEFA Cup.
A pass from an Aderlecht defender to the goal-keeper (Munaron?) and the keeper misses the ball. Incredible goal !
What happened in reality is that somebody from the stands launched a piece of something that touched the ball and deflated the ball from the keeper.
I'm not sure of my translation, so for those who speak French, they should read in English the equivalent of this: "ce qui s'est passe en realite, c'est qu'un spectateur a lance un caillou des tribunes qui a atterri sur le ballon et devie sa trajectoire". I would be very grateful if somebody could translate it properly in English (and I am very ashamed of this as I live in the US and should able to do that myself, but it's Friday night, I'm too tired). |

| As far as I know, "caillou" means "pebble" (a small stone). It deflected the direction of the ball.
And, Lyonnais, to your original topic: Two match days ago, Dortmund had a 2:0 lead versus Bayern until the 88th minute, but the final score was 2:2. ![](include/smilies/s0.gif) |

| Last year Boavista-Alverca. Alverca scored the 0-1 in the 80' minute. The game went on and on, and in a dramatic ending Boavista 1-1 on minute 94'. Of course they all were very happy with a last minute goal. The boal went to the center, and when all thought it was gonna be the end, the referee kept the game going and Boavista scored again at 97'. It was a very strange game, but thrilling.
Amazing amazing (and funny) it was in 99, when Baía from porto kicked the ball in a free kick after an offside, the ball goes across the midfield and Rui Oscar from maritimo just kicks it back from 70m and the ball flies again over the field towards the goal! Baia, who was very advanced didn't have enough time to run to save the goal. Maritimo won the game. |

| Sorry for the history lesson here but if we are talking about dramatic games we should perhaps mention league deciders. Although Scottish league titles haven't produced close finishes for many years (since 1991 really) there have been a few cliff-hangers
1950
Hibernian had 48 pts, 1 game to play, Rangers 48, 2 games to play but with better goal average.
Rangers played Hibs - attendance 101,000. Hibs attacked for 90 minutes (a win would have guaranteed the title) but it finished 0-0.
Rangers then played 3rd Lanark, needing a point. Rangers went 2-0 ahead - then it was 2-1 - then 3rds missed a penalty - then it was 2-2. One more goal for 3rds and Hibs would take the title - but the final whistle sounded.
In 1953 Rangers equalised 15 minutes from the end of their last game to take the title on goal average.
In 1959 Rangers lost their last game - which should have given Hearts the title - only Hearts also lost.
In 1965 Hearts (1st place) played Kilmarnock (2nd). Hearts were 2 points ahead and could even afford to lose 0-1,1-2 etc. But Kilmarnock won 2-0.
Similar thing in 1986, where Hearts lost their last game 2-0 to lose out on goal difference.
However the most dramatic finish to a league season I know if was in England 1989 - where Arsenal, needing to beat Liverpool 2-0 to overtake them at the top, scored 2 goals in the last few minutes to do just that - and by the way inspired a book and a movie. |

| Mackaskil do you not remember the 2003 league title that went to goal difference. celtic were actually wining the League with 60 minutes gone in the last game of the season, when Rangers ended up winning 6-1 and snatching the league on goal difference.
Best atmosphere i've ever seen at ibrox. |

| Don't know if it happened in your Leagues but in 2002 we really had a League final for the last Match Day. Lyon, second with 1 point behind Lens, welcomed Lens for the last Match Day. The club received more than 300,000 demands for tickets. The game was surpringly excellent, good football quality and fair-play. Lyon won 3-1 (2-0 after 14mn) and thus won its first title ever in the French League. I let you imagine celebrations in the city afterwards. |

| Edinburgh derby, Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian in January 2003. The score was 2-2 and Hibs scored with two minutes of normal time remaining. Hibs then went 4-2 up in the first minute of injury time. Game over you would think but Hearts 18 year-old substitute Graeme Weir scored in the third and fourth minutes of injury time to secure a 4-4 draw. Hearts scored seven late, late goals in five games against Hibs around that time. |

| It must have been close to 20-25 years ago, when Notts County and Ipswich played in Eng Premier League. Notts County outplayed Ipswich totally, they had 254 goal-chances (I stopped counting on 100 ), Ipswich were close to Notts County penalty area four times. The result: Notts County-Ipswich 0-6. Gave me a new view on what football is all about. Notts County "deserved" to win with several goals according to chances and ball possession. |

| This happened in 1978/79 UEFA cup first round. Red Star Belgrade played Dinamo Berlin and lost the first game away 5 to 2. In Belgrade it started as one of the lousiest Red Star games ever. Dinamo was leading 1 to 0. In the 60th minute Red Star equalised. And then they started to play. They scored every ten minutes: in 70th, 80th and 90th minute and went to next round on away goals. I have never again seen such a transition from total sleepiness to one of the best games ever (in the last 30 minutes) |

| In european competition, the record for my opinion :
1985-1986 - Cup winner/C2 - Quater final
1st leg : Dynamo Dresde - Bayer Uerdigen 2-0 2nd Leg after 60' : Bayer Uerdigen - Dynamo Dresde 1-3
So for hope a qualification, Uerdigen need 5 goals in the last 30 minutes and - 60' 2-3 - 64' 3-3 - 67' 4-3 - 78' 5-3 - 81' 6-3 - 87' 7-3 for the fun :-)
And a personnal remember
1984-1985 - Cup winner - First round
1st Leg : FC Metz (Fra) - Barcelona 2-4 2nd leg after 30' min : Barcelona - Metz 1-0 Metz need 4 goals and at the end : Barcelona - Metz 1-4
At the second round Metz was eliminate by ... Dresde !

| I remember that Barca-Metz game.
More recently, in the beginning of the Champions League, 1993 maybe, the game Werder Bremen - Anderlecht moved (as far as I remember) from 0-3 to 5-3. |

| 1989-1990 UEFA CUP first round.
My worst football nightmare. Levski vs Antwerp. First leg in Sofia finished 0:0. Levski scored for 0:1 in the 6th minute of the second match. An Antwerp player got injured in the 70th minute and the game was delayed for several minutes. Antwerp equilized in the 82nd , Levski scored again in the next minute and another one for 1:3 in the 89th. And then Antwerp scored in the 92nd ,94th and 97th for 4:3. It was really terrible. |

| todor,
please try to convince me you are not a fan of cska sofia ![](include/smilies/s0.gif)
otherwise i will have to publish amazing results from the bulgarian league that will make all the contributors on this forum forget about their measley 0:3->5:3 reversals and the likes and realize the true meaning of the word "amazing" ![](include/smilies/s2.gif)
i appreciate bulgarians supporting each other in general, and i really hope this is not a provocation that will sparkle yet another internet dispute b/w the blues and the reds ![](include/smilies/s3.gif)

| Well this isn't technically a League match, but I thought you might like it. In the 1950s, in one of the regional Scottish Cups, my team Partick Thistle played Queen of the South at Firhill (our home ground) in the first leg of a two leg tie...and lost 8-2 in a stereotypical bad night at the office for us. (When we do bad we do really really bad)
So with this improbable scoreline to comeback from, the Jags went down to the South of Scotland to Queens stadium...and won 9-0!
End aggregate scoreline Partick Thistle 11-8 Queen of the South
That really sums us up to a T. We've had results like that for the last 120 odd years! |

| Well, if it comes to league deciding matches that were decided in the last minutes, supporters of Bayern Munich can tell something.
I alloy myself to quote Flann in a former thread here:
----------- My all time favourite was the end of the 2000/2001 season. Bayern led by 3 points, but had their last game away in Hamburg, whereas the runner-up Schalke 04 (who had the better goal difference, and who had won their two matches against Bayern before) could play at home against a team facing relegation.
Although Schalke was behind 0-2 and 2-3, after 90 minutes the game ended with a 5-3 home-victory. Just in that 90th minute Hamburg scored their goal against Bayern: 1-0! Somehow the supporters at Schalke got the information about the goal and that the game in Hamburg was over, and lots of fans ran onto the field to party with their team. Even the manager already gave an interview about Schalke's championship title. Suddenly a live transmission from Hamburg arrived on the video wall in Schalke's stadium: The game in Hamburg was not over at all, but played in the 94th minute - and Bayern had just got an indirect free shot within Hamburg's penalty area. From a distance of 10 meters Patrik Andersson shot right through the wall of Hamburg's players to get Bayern the one goal they needed for the draw.
It was the greatest joy and jubilation for Bayern - and the greatest pain for Schalke (who were called "champion of the hearts" and "four-minute-champion" afterwards) as well. ----------- |

| Now something from the Polish League:
With two games to go in the 1996/97 season Widzew Lodz was first with 75 points and Legia Warsaw second with 74.It was then that the game between the two clubs was played in Warsaw.Frankly speaking the last game wouldn't make any difference as both: Legia and Widzew were by far the strongest teams in the league.
A win for Widzew would surely give them the championship, a win for Legia would almost secure it for Legia.
Legia were winning 2-0 for 87 great minutes for Legia fans and then Slawomir Majak scored (what seemed to be a consolation goal).Legia players were playing really chaotic football and when Gesior scored with a header on 90 minute they were really broken. When everybody thought nothing worse could happen the referee disallowed a Legia goal (he was right) and from a resulting counter attack Widzew got the third.
The Championship went to Lodz. I remember watching the game (I was 14 years old then) and it was one of these games that I will remember all my life. Not mentioning I was very happy then - Legia didn't win the championship(KSP Polonia Warsaw 4 ever!) |

| During the 80s in Greece Olympiakos hosted Ofi Crete in Olympic stadium of Athens and went 4-0 in 50th minute.Final result was 4-5. Last year Tottenham went 3-0 against Manchester United. Final score 3-4. Plenty of such examples in England. This year UEFA Cup. AEK Larnaka - Macampi Petak Ticva. 3-0 first game. 0-4 second game. Last year AC Milan - La Corounia and Real - Monaco. Big surprises. 1989-90 Omonoia Nicosia (Cyprus) - Slavia Sofia (Bulgaria). First game in Bulgaria Slavia won 2-1. Second game in Cyprus Omonia won 2-1 and thy went to extra time. Slavia scored 5 minutes before the end. Omonia needed 2 goals. Just after the kick off following slavia's goal Omonia equalised and 3 minutes later scored again and won 4-2 qualifying. The only time Omonia passed against Bulgarian teams as it lost from CSKA(2 times) and Neftohimik. |

| The best Games in Portugal have to be between Porto vs Benfica. Everytime they play, there is always Controversy and some big plays.
Worse games have to be between Porto vs Boavista. When they play, it's like Assie Rules football. |
