Date: 30-09-2004, 11:50 | to vakho Don't be offended,this topic as you can see was for everybody but nobody was interesred in it accept only cattle_ripper and me(we both know russian),so that's way we wrote cirillic and this was more or less(between us) personal subject.The subject was about cheering up CSKA though he is a fan of SCKA Sofia(Bulgaria) and me is just russian clubs and including CSKA Moscow as well.  |

By the way CSKA has good chances to get in 1/8. Porto and PSG dissappointing campaign in their local leagues refelected to the CL. If CSKA will manage to get points from 2 up-coming ties with Chelsea they will 100% qualify. I expect draws in Porto-PSG tie, so it simplifies qualification matters for CSKA. |

Presume they are pretty pleased just to be in there by beating Rangers in CLQR3. Now they may go to 1/8-final, but will have fulfilled their ambitions and more than that if they take third and advance to UCRound 3. |

Date: 30-09-2004, 12:45 | to Anita Don't get your "bitter end", but about to be pleased to be there(in the group stage) after beating Rangers in qualyfiers you are quite right.And this is already a great achivement for them as a club(cause CSKA didn't have any success in european cups at all for their history).But as you yourself know that a president of a club wants to make a super club in russian PL and certainly not only in it,it means to be better than Loko,Spartak and other teams.Loko and before Spartak showed that they can play football against even the stronges teams in Europe.CSKA has now pretty good squad,which even this year may fullfil such a taget as to pass to 1/8 finals.Don't think that further(no experience).But nothing is done at once,they may take even 4th place and nobody will be suprised(last year Vardar).So time will tell. P.S.The team has ambitions no experience(as well as the coach). |

Perhaps their style (counter attacking) is more suited to away games?, still find it hard to see them getting anything in London, but in the return, with an already qualified Chelsea, and sub zero temperatures they should get at least a point. Exciting championship race there too |

And I don't know, Arsenal is meeting Rosenborg on Highbury in last match. I think the best thing for Rosenborg would be if Arsenal was not already qualified, because then they may play with laid-back self-confidence. I don't believe it, but if Arsenal really need points in the last match, they will be preeettty nervous and thoughts like "No, not again". I think Chelsea and CSKA will be pretty pleased if they take three points each in those two next games against each other. PSG and Porto don't look like they will be in for any great surprises this year, and Chelsea and CSKA just have to win their home matches to qualify for 1/8-final. |
