| Does anyone know if it's allright with the UEFA that for example the number four or five qualify for the CL and not the number two. This could be possible in Holland next season. |

| In the anouncement off this idea it was said that UEFA has already given it's approval.
But later I read somewhere that it wasn't the case yet.
In the early 80's there was also a sort of play-off's in the Netherlands (but only for a UEFA-cup place). But after a few years UEFA halted that, because lower teams had qualified for the UEFA-cup. |

| I also heard that in the 80's there were playoffs. Hugo Borst, a journalist, said that Jeu Sprengers (memeber of the UEFA) will make it legal, but that isn't sure yet as far as I know. Is there a country where they already have playoffs for european qualification.
ps. Forza-AZ at what time is the match thursday on RTV-NH? |

| I think playoffs are unfair. Its possible the better team has a bad day and lose the spot. |

| I think the play-off is a punishment for the higher ranked team, that fought a year to get to that place. It's a prize for the lower ranked teams. Dutch idea is to have champion qualified for CL and places 2-5 play for 1 CLQ3 and 2 UC tickets. Better is to have this with places 1-4. Than at least last games before play-off are not interesting anymore. Now a team can fight for being champion till last match, losing it and then being so down, to lose all. |

| I think it would be more interesting when there are periods just like in the first division. The four winners then play eachother and the first two in that group qualify for CL and the last two for UEFA cup. |

| I think the idea is OK. Several European leagues split their PL after half-way or something. In Holland you have three top international teams (well, OK, Ajax). The winner of the league go straight to CL, the next five play each other home and away (8 matches). Or all six play for all the EC-spots.
Maybe just as - or more - fair than deciding the outcome on an accidental result (lot of injuries or lousy turf or..) against a bottom club. And it sharpens the competition (and the clubs, and the spectators and supporters) when the best teams will fight each other for the places in UC/CL.
But as mentioned, not cup, but 8 matches. I think more countries should grab that idea. And it will not be unfair that the nr.2 misses a place in CL to nr. 6.
The goal will be to try to secure a place among the five best in the preliminary series, not getting second or third. |

| i can?t see the point on playing all the year for the right of being on a play-off! Then the championship is only interesting ?till the end to clubs wich aren?t already qualified for that playoff! If PSV are champions in April; and Ajax, Feyenoord or others are already for sure in the last 6.. Those clubs just have to wait for playoffs. The dutch league will be more boring than already is with this rule; at least there will be interesting play-offs. But come on, we all know that is not the best way to select teams for UEFA! If the 6th team win to 2nd team is not unfair BUT what was the use of the league?!? Imagine that in the league the 2nd team won both to the 6th and the 6th just win on away goals, after doing a lot less points during all the season. I suggest dutch eerst divisie to be played on the casino as holland casino are the sponsor already... |
