| It's the clash between the club and the Ivoirian striker who absolutely wants to leave Brussels for a fourth (but rich because english...)rank club (WBA) where he could earn 4 times more per year... The power of money... That's life. But hard to accept. It's easy to destabilize a club today. |

| Welcome to the world, giantkiller. Guess you wouldn't choose a lot more exciting job (Eng PL) and on the top of it get 3-4 times more paid, if you had the chance ![](include/smilies/s2.gif) |

| @ anita
Sure! As i said "that's life"! The problems are 1)the lack of real regulation concerning debts (not the case in England I admit)except in some countries like France, Belgium... where a club in jeopardize can't buy... 2) Financial supports from the city (which is out of law and simply unfair if you apply the principle of commercial competition - and football is a business now! In the other side, for a real and fairest way of football - even if the big ones will stay the big ones and "that's life" !- is a salary cap. US created it some years ago and I'm sure it's the only way to maintain a competition which "seems" to be "european" (otherwise I'm afraid to see 5 countries max in CL in the future). It's not possible now, because the limitation of clubs by countries...but don't be naive my friends : the pressure of the big 3 will be terrible. For clubs like Barcelona, Real or Juventus, 2 years without CL and it's bankruptcy! They MUST be in! No matter the price to pay and the pressure on UEFA, referees, players. Yes anita, welcome to the world. |

| Mmmm, Anita, i wouldn't be so sure about 'more exciting job'. This is WBA we are talking about and a club that is likely to be relegated after only 1 season, not all clubs in EPL are glamourous!! Personally id rather CL football, and to play for a far better footballing side. But then again i dare say he intends to stay with WBA for no more than 1 season before engineering a move to a geniunely exciting team in the EPL, only then could it be understandable- if it isnt this then money is indeed the way to a footballers heart. |

| Which Englsih club made an offer to Aruna ? I do not know if we Lyon are still making an offer as we are in process of signing a young Brazilian Nilmar, who was -19 World Champion with Brazil and apparently has now joined the Selecao since. Media metion that Wiltord, still free, could sign, but Barca and Paris would also want him. |

| A question please.
Currently WBA and Lyon expressed an interest in Aruna. Assumming that Anderlecht is ready to sell him, Aruna would prefer playing in the Premier League. I personally find weird that the Belgian player of the year, Ivoirian citizen (and presumably culturally closer to France than England) prefer playing for a lower english club such as WBA rather than for the triple reigning French champion, playing the Champions League. What do you think about ? do you think that the French League has such a low interest abroad that such kind of players prefer playing the relegation there rather the title and the Champions League in France ? |

| The situation now between Aruna Dindane and Anderlecht is very complex. The player is in Ivory Coast for 2 weeks and said he'll never play for Anderlecht again. For the club, the problem is due to envirment of the players, managers and essentially a frenchman named Jean-Marc Guillou. It all about money. Lyon is still in the race because the relations between the 2 clubs is good. An agreement had been made in in the end of july to transfer Aruna in Lyon in january, after the first round of CL. WBA offered more (7.5 million €)and the manager and "gourou" of the striker became mad when Anderlecht rejected the offer. The club has a solid financial situation, will gain a lot with CL and just tranfert the Korean Seol(who didn't play) for 2 million. Aruna has a contract until 2006. Now it's clearly the war. Anderlecht wants 12 million. The possible transfer of Ibrahimovic in Roma increased the position of Anderlecht : they are upset to see the price which could be paid by the italian team for the swedish striker (between 15 and 24 million)and don't want to be fleeced with this "ridiculous" offer of 7.5 Concerning the question of Lyonnais, the answer is probably yes. EPL is the most attractive championship today. Spanish and Italian leagues have higher level, but the show is there. France is far behind with Germany... Et à part Monaco pour des raisons fiscales, les salaires pratiqués en France sont minimes par rapport aux salaires chez les 3 grands. |

| Thanks Giantkiller for your long reply.
I agree with you. The main 2 reasons why he should not come to us is (i) the fact that he cannot play the CL with another club anymore, and (ii) that net salaries in France (except for Monaco as you mentioned it) are lower than in the other leagues, namely the Premier League. Otherwise, I do not deny too that the French League is less attractive for players than the other leagues. Less goals, less fans, less media-coverage and much more important, poor technical quality.
Well, I do not know wether Dindane deserves that we wish him good luck if he leaves Anderlecht to such a poor club as WBA. I was naive enough to think that he could have made like his countrymate Drogba, try first to succeed in a good club in Belgium or France to then be sold later at high price (and high salary for him) to a top European club. Apparenty I was totally wrong. |

| Aruna is back to Anderlecht on 8th September ! He will play with us and it's normal. Our direction refuse the offers from West Bromwich, Tottenham and Deportivo Coruna (8 M€) yesterday. |
