| intertoto statistics and question
Intertoto had had 26 winners so far. Only one club has won in twice, Stuttgart. 25 winners are from the BIG FIVE.
france : 9 winners germany : 5 winners italy and spain : 4 winners england : 3 winners denmark : 1 winner
My favourites for this year are Spartac Moscow, Borussia Dortmund and Villareal. |

| 25 out of 26 from the big five is a little depressing, isn't it.
Purely on coefficients, the favourites would be Villarreal, Dortmund and Nantes, but I think Spartak Moscow have the best chance of breaking the Big 5 monopoly.
As mentioned on another thread, it's a shame there isn't some way for the resuts in Intertoto to contribute to teams coefficients.
I realise results in Intertoto would have to have a far lesser weighting than UCL and UC, but I'm sure there must be a way for them to count.

| Hooray, finally a topic without abuses. Kurt, Spartak Mockva will meet Villareal in next round, so you cant win 'em all. And I too think that if given some incentive in UEFA-counting-value-weight-points, this summer cup will be more qualitative while we football freaks wait for CLQ and UCQ (and Godot). Or Wilde, dunc

| UIC is really a competition for the big boys. I have kept all the results of the last 5 years and it gets more depressing if you check the winners of the last 5
France 7 teams in the finals Germany 5 teams in the finals Spain 5 teams in the finals England 4 teams in the finals Italy 4 teams in the finals Russia 1 team in the finals Austria 1 team in the finals Chech Rep 1 team in the finals Holland 1 team in the finals Suiss 1 team in the finals.
With England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain winning each 3 UEFA places and since England and Italy have shown no interest this year it is easy to guess from where the 3 eventual winnners will come from this year.

| I expect Villareal, Dortmund and Atletico to win this year. Teams out of the big 5 can be: SPartak Moskou, but they will have to eliminate Villareal in the 3rd round. And, with a lucky semi-final and final draw, maybe Teplice. |

| Amazing but after 1st leg Uniao and Liberec have good chances to get into UC. Bravo Villareal , they almost did it again ! |

| I support Uniao Leira because they are lower seeded than Polish team - Amica Wronki and it is chance for Amica to be seeded in 1st round UC |

| Amazing! Villareal havn't conceeded a single goal at home for 12 successive games in Eurocups already. Is the goal at "El Madrigal" enchanted? |

| Emperor, you have another chance of getting Amica seeded. In UCQR2 there are nine seeded teams that will be seeded in round 1 as well. If one of them gets eliminated, Amica will be seeded (if they go through vs. Honved).
But - there are nine unseeded teams in CLQ3 with lower ranking than Amica. If one of those eliminate their opponent, Amica will drop in ranking in round 1. Trabzonspor will presumably eliminate D. Kiev, and then it's not enough that Leiria beat Lille.
And maybe Djurgarden. Don't think so, but it's correct of me to mention the possibility, being a scandinavian |

| Maccabi Tel Aviv is also very close to eliminating PAOK, so together with Trabzonspor already 2 surprises in CLQ. So there have to be 3 surprises in Intertoto/UEFA-Q to get Amica seeded. |

| Yes, Forza, in real life (not football world) it seems improbable that Amica will win a seeded spot in round 1 after yesterdays results in CLQ3. |

| I already thought Heerenveen would be seeded for sure, but now they are suddenly on 40th place (counting the PAOK and Kiev surprises). So it gets tense again if they will be seeded or not. |

| If amica is unseeded in UC 1r their chances will depend on which team thay play against. Amica in last 5 years played 3 times in UEFA 1st r. 3 times they were unseeded and had to play with Brondby, Alania and Servette Geneva and 3 times they qualified for 2nd round |

| Three, four months ago on this forum I predicted Germanys coefficient as the borderline for seeding (16.331). So far so good.
But indeed, forza, if the surprises keep rollin, Heerenveen may be unseeded. Neither German teams nor Heerenveen will be wanted teams if unseeded. |

| First Intertoto winner this year is Schalke 04 (2:1 home, 1:0 away against Liberec)! By the way, Schalke has won all of their six UIC-games.
So now Germany's Points are divided by 7 this year, and it will be even tougher for them to defend the 4th place in the Country Ranking. |

| After shocking Benfica's death I was relieved that Leiria went out too. At least Portugal now has "only" 6 teams to share points against the 7 of Germany and France. Maybe this will minimize the damage for Portuguese fight on a good ranking.
I must say however that Leiria did a remarkable performance until today, however it was just a very bad game, and the first defeat in 6 months. (Leiria was invincible for last 17 games). |

| Too bad for Leiria. It would have been a result to remember. It's too much for them. Getting to the final was a victory itself. But still I had some hope... |

| @Flann
actually I think Schalke's qualifying should benefit Germany's coefficient, as Schalke is a contender to qualify for the group phase and collect a few points. If they make more than 8, which I think they can, they'll be a plus.
Germany's coefficient will be dragged down by Aachen (2nd division team) and Bochum, unless the latter get their act together in time for first round, so the addition of a perceivedly stronger team should help.

| By the way, a peculiar thing has happened. 2 out of 3 that won the Intertoto last year, have won it again now. Only Perugia has been "replaced" by Lille. |
