| What do you think about Club Brugge en Anderlecht? Are they going to be European subtop in a few years? Or did this year just was an accident? Is there any difference between Belgian and Dutch clubs? |

| I am from belgium, i find no difference between belgium and the netherlands. Belgium is reaching spot 10 in uefa, and netherlands is slipping away to spot 10.If the netherlands has only 4 teams in europe , maybey the topclubs and subclubs will use their mind and start a super BENELIGA. |

| And they also have more money(partly due to more attendances) which results in the long term mostly in better players. Besides that in Holland there's more great young talent in the topteams. And almost every player coming from the Belgian league to the Dutch says the level is higher. Belgian forward Huysegems in VI of 17 dec:"I noticed that in Holland the game is really faster. The level is really 1, 2 times higher than in Belgium." And:"In Belgium they think they can't defend in Holland, but that's not true. Actually, they are tougher. They mark on shorter distances, you have to handle faster not to lose the ball."
The Dutch teams were not good this year in Europe. But there were always periods like this and everytime there came succes times again... Well I hope Club Brugge and PSV will make it far. A BENELIGA would be great but it looks to me the clubs are not interested. |

| The overall standard is slightly better in Holland, although Belgium seems to be narrowing this of late. This said they will need to maintain such results for another few years to make such a claim. Both countries are very similar to another 5 or so leagues in europe in that they have 2-3 strong teams capable of progressing in Europe and very little below that. Its a matter of demographics, all these leagues are able to produce one or two great teams at a time, but unable to support any more. |

| having seen Ajax and Anderlecht in the Champions League in the last few years I think that Belguim is closing in on the dutch because the dutch cannot hold on to their best players |

| Irrelevant... There's no major differences between the two championships. Anderlecht, Feyenoord, PSV, Ajax are playing at the same level. The only way to compare is in European cups. And the victory of Feyenoord in Europe is very misleading : the opponents were very weak, comparing of top clubs opponents. What is true, is the differences of talented players between the 2 countries : in the Netherlands it's a tradition to play a very offensive and positive football. Sometimes very naive too... In Belgium, I must admit it's not (was not ?) the case and less funny to watch. Finally, the words of this mediocre player (Huyseghems...who knows where he is now ???)transcripts just a frustration. He was not able to play for the biggest clubs in Belgium... typical... In each country, we have 3 or 4 good sub-top clubs, with one of them (Ajax) able to reach the top sometimes due to some young player's high level(great formation). The other clubs are in the same level. The 20 remaining teams are unable to beat the best ones in both country. So, the level is bad. Period. |
